I know that many bloggers love the muted colors and tones to decorate their homes with. And I think their homes are elegant and beautiful.
But I cannot live without color in my world.
From the yellows and golds and reds and browns of the fall season, to the birds that visit my yard. The bright red male cardinal, and his less colorful mate. The bright red flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
I can assure you that my spirit would definitely be dampened if I could not have and use the colors I so love.
There is no right or wrong way to decorate.
But we “color” bloggers pretty much know one another on a first name basis. We know that when we visit one another, we can get our all important color fix.
We are drawn to one another’s blogs as we are drawn to that morning cup of coffee or tea.
My complete love for color is reflected in every room of my home.
In the gardens where I grow flowers and grasses and herbs.
My world is a virtual crayon box of color.
Some people write and tell me that they want to use more color in their homes, but are uncertain quite how to go about it. They’re not sure how to sprinkle it through their decor.
Color is right if it makes you smile. If you add something colorful to your home, and it lifts your spirits, then you have chosen well. Because color is an individual thing that is different for all of us.
Color is passionate and warm and cheerful and pleasing to the eye.
And so I color my world. In every way I can. Because without it my home would seem an empty canvas. A coloring book waiting to be filled in. A garden waiting for blooms to blossom.
So now I will go into my kitchen. I will get my favorite everyday red coffee cup, and make myself a cup of coffee in my bright red mini Keurig coffee maker.
It is the first special thing I do for myself each day. And we should all do special things for ourselves throughout the day. Every day.
