I’ve got lots of pics I took this morning. I have two rooms fairly presentable now. It has been raining, so it’s a bit dark.
Yes, I am keeping the coffee table. I love the couch/chaise. So comfy and works so well with the pupsters.
I know my windows are glaringly white. I plan on finding some dark bamboo shades maybe.
This is where I work during the day. I upload photos on my desk top. But I work mainly on this laptop you see at the end of the chaise. It is very comfortable for my ankle to be elevated and the dogs get to be right next to me.
I don’t know where the chalk is. So the chalkboard is empty.
I can’t recall who suggested putting the black shelf on top of the buffet, but I sure wish they’d been here to help me get it up there! I first tilted the shelves against the coffee table, then shoved it up there. Then I just took a deep breath and lifted it on top of the buffet.
Not taking it down. Like to killed me. But I do like it there. The shades of black are not the same, but decorating is not a perfect art. It’s really not about perfection. If it was, we’d never rest.
A closer look at the contents. It’s a little blurred. There is no overhead light to shine down on it.
You can see the coffee bar there, so that’s the end of the living room going into the dining space.
The floors are wet because we’ve been coming in out of the rain. I had to take all the plants and potting soil I purchased this morning out there. They got a little rain shower.
Only place I had for a trash can. Oh well. Everyone has to have a trash can. I just have nowhere to hide it.
Someone suggested I put the red shelf on top of the table. So I did. You know I haven’t even really used the cabinets in the kitchen. Just a couple. Because I have one door off, and I’m trying to decide what I want to do. I’ve made do with furniture I brought with me.
I forgot to move the silver sonic egg you see there. It is supposed to emit sonic waves when a dog barks. I use it when I leave. Don’t know if they bark or not.
I’m sort of moving around the room with my camera so you can see what is where. Yes, I know the vertical blinds are ugly. Haven’t had time to fool with them yet.
Abi obviously wants you to see that she’s here. You can see where I put my old window pane of vintage images that was above my mantel at the other place.
Okay, Abi, they can’t help but see you in all your glory. Tell them you like your new home and are settling in nicely.
You know me and my lamp fetish. Bought this one this morning at Target. It is from the Threshold line, which I like a lot.
Right outside my patio doors. This is where I’ve decided to have my seating area, for it is underneath a tree from another yard and provides a good bit of shade. I’ll probably get a rug for this spot at some point.
Aren’t the pot of pansies lovely. I finally bought myself a clematis. I’ve wanted one forever. It has white flowers.
As you can see, I’ve got my work cut out for me. I will be mixing these plants with the ones I brought from the other house.
Had to have a fern for my shady corner. I just love ferns of every variety, and it sure loved the rain shower!
This photo is so you know, if I haven’t already made it clear already, where the dining area goes into the patio area. Now you should have a pretty good idea how this place is laid out.
That’s it for now. I’ve got the bedroom and kitchen and bathroom to tackle. Then the patio. This post was heavy on the photos. I wanted you to see where everything is.
