Question: Why don’t I quilt anymore?
Answer: I had a car accident in 1998. I gripped the steering wheel as hard as I could because I veered off the highway (a semi ran me off the road) at about 70 miles per hour onto very uneven ground that led to a lake. And because I was driving a SUV, I was trying not to roll.
I subsequently had to have various hand surgeries. One on each wrist, and what is called a Burton’s sling on my right thumb. I also had to have my neck partially fused.
After that I had so much arthritis in my hand that I could no longer quilt.
