It is overcast today. There is a slight breeze, I can see by the tree branches softly swaying outside my patio door. Cold, but I have my little Duraflame heater going. I don’t think I used it once last year. But I’m sure making up for it this year!
I’m trying to stay in this month. Without health insurance, my fear is that if I was unfortunate enough to be in a car accident, then I wouldn’t have health insurance.
I “might” have insurance next month, but I won’t know till later in the month. If I don’t get it then, I’m not sure when I’ll get it.
All this because the insurance company didn’t do what they were supposed to do, which was to take my premium payment via automatic bank draft as they’ve been doing for years.
I called them multiple times to make sure they were swinging it over into 2018 as they did the year before and the year before that.
And they kept telling me not to worry each time I phoned!
Except I did need to worry. They cancelled my insurance due to their own error. And I’m scrambling to figure out a way to fix this because you know how difficult health insurance companies can be to deal with.
I may have to wait until the next enrollment period next November, which would be very bad due to the high cost of the generic medication I take on a regular basis.
Keeping my fingers crossed. I get so weary of bureaucratic errors!
On a lighter note, I’m now reading “The Last Mile” by David Baldacci. His publicist sent me the last two books in The Memory Man series. I’d read the first one some time ago.
Here are all three books in The Memory Man/Amos Decker series.
These books are all highly rated, and if you like mysteries/crime fiction, then you will probably love these books.
It is called “The Memory Man” series because the main protagonist has a special brain condition which occurred when he was injured playing pro football. Now he forgets nothing.
Can you imagine? They say time heals all wounds. But if your brain can’t forget anything, how on earth would time ever heal your pain?
However it is due to this condition that he makes a phenomenal crime fighter.
Need I say that David Baldacci is a fantastic writer? His literary success is somewhat legendary. If you’d like to check out his books, here is a link to his online bio.
What are you up to on this cold January day?
