I’ve been going all day. I dropped the pupsters off at the groomer, and she isn’t far from my doctor’s office. I had my bi-annual doctor’s check up today.
My blood pressure is stubbornly staying higher than it should. Not extremely high. Just higher than it should be. So she’s added another medication to my daily medication regimen.
I told her that all that’s going on in this country is keeping me upset. She said she and her husband are about to go to Paris. She said she plans to tell people she’s from Canada because she doesn’t want to admit she’s from the US. How sad things have become.
On the other hand, I’m so proud of those high school kids from Florida. Not even a week since their classmates and teachers were killed, and they are bound and determined to do something about gun control. Their parents I know are very proud of them.
On TV I just watched a man show his assault rifle. He said he’d had it for many years. But he would gladly give it up if it would save one child. He was standing on his patio. He then took the rifle over to a table saw and sawed it in half. He said okay, there’s one less gun in the US.
I was so moved that I nearly cried. I’m silly that way. I get emotional over commercials. Have you seen the commercial, I think it’s for Suburu, where a guy’s girlfriend picks him up for a trip they’re taking? He looks inside and sees her big dog in the backseat. He says: “Oh, you brought Butch.”
So off they go. That evening they’re outdoors next to a campfire. He goes and gets a jacket to put over his girlfriend’s shoulders. The dog then goes over to them and puts his head on the guy’s lap. They’re both so surprised and emotional I nearly cry every time I see it.
Oh my, it’s been raining like crazy all day long. So it’s gray outside. I did a few errands while I was out: went to pick up the new prescription, ran into Trader Joe’s for almond milk, yogurt and cereal. Then picked up Abi and Charlie, who look so cute with their puppy cuts.
My gardenia plant still has not bloomed! I’ve been putting it outside, hoping those buds that has been on the plant for nearly two months will decide to go ahead and bloom.
Here it is outside on this very rainy day…
I don’t know if you ever watch the White House press secretary. I leave the news on much of the day and she’s on right now. I should just turn it off because it will do my blood pressure no favors.
I don’t know about you, but I’m real tired of hearing endless excuses about why this country is in such a mess and no one is doing much of anything about it.
Tomorrow I will be showing my decorated terrariums.
