Keven and Mandy Holesh share their 188 square foot camper with their four pets, Grizzly, Nimbus, Foxey and Luna. They’ve lived in this camper for two years.
Kevin is an app developer and Mandy is a wedding photographer.
Their home on wheels is a 16 year old Keystone Cougar fifth wheel they paid $5000 for, and renovated as cheaply as they could.
“At the time we were paying off our student loans, so we wanted to be as thrifty as possible while doing everything by ourselves! We love that we did all the work ourselves, it really makes us appreciate it more, even with all of the imperfections.”
Mandy says that the secret to keeping their home clean and sane is just having less stuff.
“We don’t have much clutter on a daily basis because we don’t have more than we need, and everything has a place. Also, we don’t have a lot of room in our camper for things, so buying random things doesn’t happen as much as it did when we had an apartment!”
(I noticed that the yellow shade they used to paint the kitchen cabinets is almost exactly the same shade of yellow that I used in my dining space for my coffee bar, little pantry, and my dining table. I love that shade of yellow. It’s such a happy color!)
(It’s nice that, even though they live in a camper, they can still gaze out the window when they’re washing dishes.)
(I like the black triangular shape they painted in the corner here. It positions the space and makes it seem separate from what is obviously the bedroom. Great idea!)
I hope you enjoyed this small home tour. It makes me smile that the ratio of pet to person is 2 to 1!

It’s so nice to see real-life people living their values, particularly when it goes against the cultural grain. 🙂
May dis Valentine bless uz wid da cupid of love & warmth of romance.
Happy Valentines Day my dear!
Ryoma.
Very light and bright makes it seem larger.
Well everyone looks pretty happy and cozy! Love the space 🙂
Very cute! I wonder where they keep the cats’ litter box in such a small space! Could become a smelly situation!
Such a peaceable little kingdom. I love it!
I like the small home tours. I love pets, but I could not handle 4 in such small space.
They’ve done an amazing job of making a tiny area look bright and spacious. For me, it’s not a home without a dog (or cat) and books. Just sayin’…….
Where are they parking it I wonder? Mom and dads place?
Such a cute space. I’d never know it was a camper. And there’s spaces for all their pets. I really enjoy these features you do.
They’ve done a beautiful job, love all the accents they chose – and that they are willing to share it with pets. A good life, indeed. Smart couple!
I love this! I’ve seen their camper before, maybe on Apartment Therapy, and it’s adorable. I think I could live in a camper maybe for a year, traveling around the country…..bringing my little home with me. Then I could park it back at my regular house and use it as a guest cottage!
Thank you Brenda for these small home tours. I myself downsized from 2300sf to just around 1000sf and hope to go smaller in the future, so these tours are beautiful inspiration.
So nice! Who would think it was a camper?
I am just wondering how much space is left on the bed for the humans come bed time!!!!
This is an awesome story and great living space for this couple. I too love that they are trying to pay down debt from school loans and not taking on more. They all look so happy living in this small space. It is done up so cute too. I am learning this living in my small home now that you utilize every inch of living space and you just have less stuff. That is the key to living small. Less is more!!!
Kris
I think it’s so great that this couple is living this way in order to pay down debt rather than go into more debt buying a big house. They and their pets seem to be a good team. Hard to believe that space is less than 200 square feet. It seems pretty roomy.
What a cute space and the animals sure do appear to be quite comfortable.
Cute but no thank you.
I love how they painted all the interior white. This makes it seem so much bigger.
Great home. animals make the home.
