Book Summary:
Violet and Finn and their young son Bear are on vacation at the beach. Finn tells Violet that he will go inside and tend to Bear while she relaxes outside. She thinks this is so sweet and considerate of her husband.
A bit later when she goes inside she discovers that Finn has taken their son and disappeared. Suddenly she realizes why he was being so solicitous when they were outside. He planned this all along. But why?
This is her worst nightmare. She has no idea why Finn would do this, why he would leave and take their son. They weren’t having problems. They were happy. Did she miss something crucial?
Caitlin and Finn have been friends since college and have remained close. Finn lived next door to Caitlin and George before he married Violet. Caitlin is the golden girl who married a senator’s son. But she harbors secrets she can’t allow to come to light.
And Finn knows what they are.
Finn shows up at Caitlin’s home and demands that she hide him at their family cabin. She is seeing another side of Finn, one that stoops to blackmail. She feels forced to help him evade the authorities though he could take her and her secrets down with him.
So she decides to play along until she can think of some way to make things right.
But is there a way to make things right when the FBI is involved and she’s also breaking the law to buy Finn’s silence? Only time will tell. You’ll have to read the book to find out.
“Almost Missed You” is a fast-paced thriller that exposes a mother’s worst nightmare.

Emotionally riveting, moving characters, and a twisty, turny plot full of secrets. This book is well-written and overall well-done. It’s definitely something fresh for the domestic suspense fans.
Sounds interesting, although a bit nervewracking! I might try it.
Hi Brenda,
I have a book recommendation for you. The name of the book is Eleanor Olipant is Completely Fine. It has a quirky female lead character who has who had a horrible childhood that is slowly revealed. It is also about finding love when you don’t even see right in front of you. I think you would like the Eleanor!

This does sound good! I’ll add it to my list!
This sounds like my type of book – adding to my list as well! I’ve been reading a ton lately with all these winter storms, boy do I love nothing more than sitting by the fire with a book that draws me in!
This sounds like a good book! I need something fast-paced to get my slow-paced brain in shape. I painted the dining room yesterday and climbing up and down the ladder is not the fun I had remembered! I am achy this morning but the dining room sure looks nice.
Thank you for the review.
You’re very welcome! I need to finish up painting my dining space that I started months ago. Didn’t go all the way up to the ceiling.
