Book Summary:
Cecily is on her way to meet her husband at his office when an explosion occurs right in front of her. She knows that both her husband and her best friend were inside the Chicago building as she watched the building go down.
Kate, who in fact did not die, fled the disaster and is now living in Canada. She is hoping that she doesn’t get found out, because she literally took the opportunity to disappear from her husband and two daughters amid disaster.
Franny is a troubled woman searching for her birth mother. She has finally found her. And now her real mother has died inside that building.
The book begins a year later. The anniversary of the explosion that killed hundreds of people is approaching and will dominate the media.
These three women all have something to hide. Their hope is that the anniversary photos do not expose what they’re hiding.
What each of them selfishly did.
My Review:
It took me a few chapters to get into this book, but then I was hooked. As the story progressed, the surprises just kept coming.
I have to say that I was shocked at the ending, which is always a good thing when you’re reading a suspenseful novel.
I want to read other novels by this author. I definitely like her style.

You read so many great books! Are you just lucky or do you read a lot of bad ones to every good one you find?
I get some bad ones every now and then. But I primarily pick the books I want to read and the publisher/author/publicist sends it to me free for review.
