Sometimes, early in the morning, it often seems that there is a complete orchestra of birds all chirping at the same time. I always wonder why this is.
If they are just communicating with one another, or whether a predator might be in their midst. Or if this is just their habit.
It reminds me of my youth, of the loud squawking in the hen house when something scared the chickens.
Then after a time I can hear the various birds chirping distinctly again. A few at a time. So maybe it is just part of their morning routine.
My patio is like a small fenced ecosystem.
Below you can see that Charlie has spied a squirrel. I don’t see it, but I guess he saw movement on the fence or a squirrel getting a drink of water.
My hibiscus is drooping so, even though I keep it watered, that I think I might drive the block and a half to Ace Hardware and see if they have their large plant pots discounted yet.
Maybe if I give it more dirt and room to battle the heat, it will not look so stressed. It’s in part shade some of the day as it is.
I have been taking Charlie on outings with me when I don’t have to get out of the car. I don’t want him to think every time we go out that he’s going to visit the vet.
This is new for him, and he seems to enjoy going. At least I know he hates being left behind.
We go on a little adventure, not long, but he at least gets out and about with me.
We are a duo now, Charlie and me.
I don’t have anything planned this weekend.
My son-in-law will be traveling for business on Sunday. So my daughter said she and Andrew will pick up lunch and come over here after church.
Andrew was afraid of Abi, because her barking was so loud. But Charlie hardly takes notice of him and Andrew seems more comfortable here now.
Have a great weekend, whatever you have planned.
