The bird looks lonely up in the leafless bare tree branches. The trees in winter.
It has been raining for days. Not a pounding rain. Just a light winter rain that keeps everything wet and gloomy.
The lack of sunshine makes for darkened gray days.
I don’t find it depressing, because I love the rain even in wintertime. But I can see how some people would feel down without sunshine for days on end.
“Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky.”
I’m always happy when, as spring approaches, I’ll begin to see little specks of green, meaning the leaves are about to emerge. But right now what we have are the trees in winter.
I really enjoyed all the frugal tips for re-using products that you ladies came up with yesterday. We have one frugal community of women here!
I wrote down the suggestions for other topics from the comments. One of them was for homemade cleaners. So next Friday let’s have homemade all-natural cleaning recipes.
I know you’re probably missing pics of the pet babies though, so I’ll show them off today.
Queen of the quilts. Ivy looks so regal and confident perched up there.
Sometimes I see her facing the wall quilt and gazing at all the different colors of patchwork. Often she will reach up to touch the quilt.
Ivy has been a real stinker this morning. She has been into everything.
She chews the wire on my spiral notebook. When that bores her she starts to rip the paper out of it, so I take it away. Then she chews on my pens.
She’s making this strange meowing/chirping sound she doesn’t often make.
I don’t know what’s going on. But she’s running around here like her fur is on fire.
Oh, a girl’s gotta yawn. My sweet ornery nosy girl.
She still manages to get her spring toys under the washer despite everything I’ve tried. I tried putting a board in front of it. Didn’t work.
Now I have a tightly folded towel squeezed underneath. I don’t know how she’s doing it, but she still gets the toys under the washer.
Sometimes I’ve moved that washer out three times before 9 a.m. Because even if I give her another one, she wants me to move the washer out and get the rest of the spring toys back out.
Why does she sweep them under there only to aggravate me to get them back out?
It’s become a sport to her I suppose. She sits and paws at the towel. Sometimes she gets it out. Then I get down on the floor and push it in as tightly as I can. What a silly cat.
Charlie looks ready for a snooze. That warm stove makes him sleepy. And the sound of rain helps to make one drowsy too.
Well what are you staring at, Ivy seems to saying. I’m helping you dry the bed sheets with the warmth of my body.
Frugal tips seems to be popular. I want to write about things that somehow help you in your daily life.
So if you have any more ideas for posts, beyond frugal tips, bring them on. I love the idea of women helping other women.
