Yesterday I decided to drive to Home Goods. I hadn’t been there in quite awhile.
I was roaming the Clearance aisle when I found this wall Buddha for $9. It is about 24 inches long and at least a foot wide.
I hired Nathan to come over and refresh some of the paint on the wall, fix my French door curtains that were falling down, hang a few things for me (such as the Buddha) and rearrange the farmhouse paintings on the top closet shelf in an orderly fashion.
Some of you wanted to know what I did with all that stuff. Well, I stacked it all in the closet until I could get things organized.
Then I realized it was going to be hard for me to situate them on that top shelf. I didn’t want them down on the floor where Ivy could get to them.
Nathan is so tall he doesn’t have to climb up a step ladder like I do.
He loved the Buddha. He’s into that sort of thing. Tapestries, salt lamps, Buddhas.
But Ivy is another story. She can’t stop staring at it. I can’t tell if she’s afraid of it or just curious. I’ve seldom seen her afraid of anything. She is pretty fearless.
Ivy usually goes with the flow of things. But she just can’t figure out this Buddha on the wall.
Now Charlie is another story. He doesn’t take notice if anything new is brought into my apartment. Same old, same old to him. Maybe it’s a guy thing.
I’ll be showing you what I’ve gotten done in the living room by Friday.
