Well, I’m home. The doctor said the the stitches were gone, so apparently they came out early. Maybe that was the cause of the pain yesterday.
He also said that he could not recall having to give pain medication to anyone for such a simple procedure. I told him that it sure didn’t feel like simple pain to me.
He just shrugged and said everyone responds to pain differently. If he was attempting to make me feel a bit small, he succeeded.
But then once in my car driving home I told myself not to let a little man make me feel small. His bedside manner left something to be desired, so I will not be going back to him.
I asked him if I should swish salt water in my mouth, and he said I could if I wanted to. He was very cavalier. He said he didn’t schedule a follow up because he didn’t feel it was necessary..
I’m so glad that my primary doctor is a woman. That’s not to say that male physicians are bad, but he reminded me of my ex-husband. And he always got bad reviews from patients.
I imagine this male doctor will as well with his attitude. Most people don’t take well to being patronized.
P.S. I just read the comments and someone mentioned trigeminal neuralgia. I’ve had that a number of times and I completely forgot about it.
