Charlie has already had his acupuncture appointment. I dropped him off and was about to write this when they called and said he was ready to go home. So we’ve just gotten back.
He was doing so well and then the holidays came around and they took off all of Christmas week and three days of the next week and he didn’t get to go in for his appointment for over two weeks.
I’m hoping we can get him back on track.
I wanted to tell you that this week I’ve been working a lot on the “Lovely Reads” page to provide you with lots of new links to find blogs you might be interested in checking out.
I Google various genres of blogs and find them that way. I also click a lot on Pinterest pins and go to the blog and see if it’s something I think you’d like. I check to make sure the blog has recently been updated so you don’t end up going to one that hasn’t posted in ages.
I like to provide this service for you readers because it’s so much easier to clink on a link than it is to find these blogs on your own. I update these links on a regular basis. And I also take those off that don’t seem to be posting much.
The last days have been filled with sunshine. Yesterday I got out the vinegar and water spray mix and cleaned the glass storm door as well as the French doors. Gave me a lift to see outside without the muck that gathers on the outside!
RECIPE FOR VINEGAR GLASS CLEANER: I mix half white vinegar and half water in a spray bottle. Sure is cheaper than buying glass cleaners.
TIP: I wanted to tell you about a little tip I use for smelly things going into my kitchen garbage can. I buy those pet waste bags for those who walk their dogs and have to pick up what their dogs leave behind.
I use them to clean Ivy’s litter box and then tie them shut. I clean it 2-3 times per day. I like to use plastic grocery bags to throw away her litter, but I don’t go to the store enough to have the amount of plastic bags I need to clean her box that much.
You can get these doggy bags cheap at places like Tuesday Morning. I get them at my grocery store too, but they’re cheaper at discount stores.
I recently got a bag of 16 rolls with 240 bags for $5.99.
TIP: When I have, say, a banana peel that I don’t want smelling up the garbage when it’s not nearly full to take to the dumpster, I put the banana peel inside one of these little bags and tie it shut. Then throw it in the trash can.
Doesn’t make as much of a mess or cause odor to waft through the kitchen.
Another plus to doing this is if you have to rummage through the trash can because you accidentally threw something away. With these bags holding the smelly stuff the chore isn’t nearly so bad.
TIP: You may already do this one if you don’t like light seeping through when you’re sleeping. I use clothespins to clip curtains tightly together to keep the light out.
I can’t sleep with light seeping through so I clip one at the top of the closed curtains where the curtains meet and one I clip on farther down.
Also wanted to tell you that I figured out the air purifier that wasn’t working properly.
I finally came across the instructions and I wasn’t resetting the button after cleaning. When I did that it worked fine.
This is Ivy this morning perched on the chair waiting for the light to appear high on the wall. It doesn’t show up till later in the morning so she’s waiting for it.
Cats are so smart!
