I’ve been sitting here this morning working on the photos for the little house that will be featured Friday. It will be a bevy of red and white. I think you’re going to love this one.
I drove to Homegoods yesterday because my daughters gave me a gift certificate for my birthday. I ended up buying new silverware and four steak knives that were on the clearance aisle.
I’ve had the same silverware I moved to Tulsa with and the handles were getting a bit loose. Once I got to thinking about it, I realized I’ve had the same steak knives since my twenties, so they’re around 40 years old!
Anyway, then I drove home in the gorgeous weather and picked up Charlie so he could ride with me to the vet to pick up some of his heart medication.
While we were there I had Doc do a laser treatment to ease the pain in his back and neck.
He’s cuddled up close to me napping in the recliner as usual. He’s eaten his egg and had his morning medications. Ivy is on the bed behind my chair.
Ivy is getting me up earlier and earlier. Maybe she’s bored. I get up and give her dry food around six, so she isn’t hungry. Maybe she gets lonely and just wants her human up.
When I got up she went directly to her closet to let me know one of her swirly toys was underneath something and that I needed to get it for her. So I got the yardstick and fetched it.
It wasn’t five minutes later that I caught her putting it under there herself. It wasn’t sliding under there while she was playing. She was doing it on purpose!
I told her that I wasn’t fetching it right away this time. Maybe she’s doing the same thing with the washer. Making me move that heavy thing out to get her toy.
And I have wood and stuff stacked on either side of the washer to prevent this, but Ivy always figures a way around it.
I’ll be happy to play fetch, but I get tired of moving furniture to get her toys.
She’s a little stinker. That’s what my Granny would say.
I’ve got the boxes of things to redo my kitchen stacked in a corner of the dining room. Occasionally I see Ivy over there trying to see what she can pry out. Oh, she’s a nosy cat!
I had to completely hide those gold drawer pulls as she really seems particularly attracted to them. I suppose she wants to drag some of them out and play with them or hide them somewhere.
And she looks so innocent when sleeping, doesn’t she?
I plan to stay home today. I’ve had my one cup of coffee and I’m going to work online a bit and maybe clean my apartment and change the sheets.
