  1. This is such a cozy post, Brenda. Since we need to stay home, we might as well use the time! We are getting our house ready for sale…which looks like will be delayed with all that’s going on…but I guess we have more time to get the house ready.

  2. Thank you for being honest. It’s a quality I need to see in everyone I admire.

  3. Our president is not to blame for the virus. The problem I have & many others is when
he says things like “ this is their new hoax “, or “ it’s going to disappear. one day it’s
like a miracle it will disappear, anybody that needs a test gets a test, & just stay calm
It will go away. I don’t care what party or lack of party you affiliate yourself with, or if
one is a Christian, Muslim, or atheist, how are these kind of comments in anyway helpful
to our citizens ? Let’s also not forget on February 28th he said we’re going down, not up.
“ and again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be
down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done “ How do such comments
help or unify ? I believe the answer lies in what he also said when running for office in 2016. Paraphrasing here but something to the effect when he was praising the loyalty
of his supporters then was “ I could walk down the street & shoot someone & you would
still give your support. This is not a political blog but I see nothing wrong in Brenda giving
an opinion. I even enjoy reading the opinions that are vastly different from my own. I am
not going to quit reading because someone has a different perspective than myself. A
fair minded tolerant person should be able to do so & as long as we remain respectful,
    I say why not

  4. I love your posts but I just can’t stand people blaming our President for everything. We have to come together as a country.

  5. Brenda, a wonderful post and certainly a timely post. I am in the midst of trying to find the perfect corner of my home in which to create that reading nook. And I will start looking through my stash of pillow covers in order to change my pillows up a bit — something more colorful for spring.

Also, I do respect your blog, your opinion, and your willingness to post about everyday life and the craziness that is this world we live in. I think it is good to have give and take among a group of women; we might not agree on a topic but I do think about what others have said and learn from them.

Thanks for all you do for us — the stories you tell about your animals, tips on decor, your posts about normal and not so normal everyday events, those absolutely fantastic photos, your health issues (since we all at this point in our lives have a few and can identify), your family stories, etc. I’ll admit I did get a bit riled up in the earlier post but that is, in my opinion, a good thing. You give us the opportunity to be passionate about a topic and we have a forum here.

Take care and I look forward to the next post.

  6. This is a perfect time for all the wonderful suggestions you have listed. I’m trying to reorganize and declutter and then getting ready for a garage sale. Too much stuff to deal with in my home. Can’t wait until Spring! I know you enjoy your patio garden so much..and I’m sure looking forward to getting outside. I sure am!

  7. I like your ideas about re-analyzing your living spaces and challenging yourself to try other things. Next week, my husband and I will drive down to Redding California to meet our daughter and she will hand off her dog and our three grandkids. The state of Cali. just canceled all public schools until April 6th. My daughter and her husband are building a house and just moved into our 23ft. Toy Hauler on their acreage with their children to save on two mortgages. The parents work full time and have no childcare for this emergency because of self -quarantine. The situation in her area is getting crazy; they actually had to close their Costco because of the run on food and toilet paper. We will try to entertain them and help them with their schoolwork via the internet. No boredom here!
    Stay safe out there,
    Susan

  8. I am hoping during this time to get more written in the book I am writing to my offspring, because the grandkids especially never knew 3 of the finest people…and that was my mom and her parents. So if I don’t write it, all that I knew of them will likely be lost…and they surely deserved to be remembered!! Had I a blog like this, I might write it online…but that is ok, as it will mean most to my kin.

  9. I saw absolutely nothing offensive in you post earlier today. Sometimes it’s hard to have the truth put right in front of you. Sometimes people can’t face their own fear or ignorance. Good they still live in a free country where they can find a blog consisting of pure fluff that might better serve them and to them I say “Don’t let the screen door hit you on your way out”! Have a good and cozy evening Brenda.

It’s your blog you can write what you want. If people don’t like it, they don’t have to read it. I find your blog very enjoyable and find all the different topics to be informative.

  11. Your home is just lovely Brenda. I love everything about it. It is cozy warm and inviting. Sometimes I think we live in too big a house, it is only about 1100 square feet (not including the basement). I think it is the living room that bothers me, it is too big to be cozy so we retreat to the basement where there is a smaller space to watch TV. I also have a craft room down there too and an office (we have a desk and computer each) It is a place where Dexter likes to be too as he has a lovely warm bed. We did have the basement painted white when we moved in so it is very light down there. You have given us lots of good ideas if we want to change things up and things to do while we are confined to home. (We only go out to get groceries right now). Love the first picture on your blog of Charlie and Ivy.

  12. I’ve used this down time to really ponder which decorating items I’m keeping “just because” and ended up in an unexpected whirlwind of bagging stuff to donate for someone else to enjoy. Once I started, I decided to open all of the drawers and closets, too. By the time I was finished, I had 5 large garbage bags of dishes, linens, clothes, DVDs, books, purses and everything I didn’t enjoy as much as I thought I should. I even threw in a clock and mirror I had for years “just because”. My house feels more refreshing and relaxed and I love that I no longer keep asking myself why I’m keeping THAT item!

    1. I’m sorry. It’s hard for me to know what people will like or not like. I typically just write what comes into my head at the moment. I will try to refrain from posts that appear divisive. I guess I’m just worried about things right now.

      1. Keep on doing what you are doing Brenda, we all have different opinions, it would be very boring if we didn’t.

        1. Never discuss politics or religion.and everyone will be happy.

      2. Please don’t apologize! Readers who know you well know that everything you share is valuable and sincerely presented. The “happiness” that comes from not discussing serious subjects is an illusion. Mutual respect and thoughtful expression of feelings and beliefs are necessary but it’s always better to understand how other people feel about the important things in life. Thank you for your candor and caring.

      3. Brenda, this is your blog. You should feel free to write whatever you want. If people disagree so be it. Don’t let those people who disagree sensor your writing. Your writing is you, and that is why we continue to visit here.

  13. I just starting visiting you. I’m really enjoying my visits. Can I ask which state you live it.
