  1. Glad to hear Charlie is better!! Hope that continues!! Often in life, one has to be grateful for the “just ok” days…I am there with my husband.

  2. What wonderful news Brenda and I know a huge relief for you! and that Charlie is feeling so much better! What a wonderful vet you have in Dr. Poteet! Charlie is in very capable hands….. I hope that you will get a restful nights sleep tonight and I am praying that you will get more good news from his blood work results tomorrow.

  3. I’m so glad Charlie responded to the treatment. When my Mom passed, I inherited her 19 year old cat who had been on fluids. Of course, I continued her treatment and she lived another three years which is quite elderly for a cat.i has her fluid bag hanging off my four poster bed and I didn’t mind decorating this way since it kept Miss Gray happy and going.
The book sounds interesting. I may have to order that one. On Netflix I’ve been watching “ Reign” which is loosely based on Mary Queen of Scots and King Francis of France. It’s a good show with several seasons but not totally accurate. However, it has piqued my interest and I’ve ordered two books on Mary from respected historians. Stay well & be safe.

  4. Brenda,

  6. So happy that Charlie is feeling better. I felt sad after you posted about him not doing so good. It has just been a few weeks since our Honey Girl died from cancer and I still cry about her loss. Blessings to you and your 2 fur babies. Carolyn in Florida

  7. So glad to hear such happy news about your baby. Yesterday was a good news day for a few of your readers too. Our 7 year old doberman became extremely ill with a very high fever and was critically ill starting on Friday. We were told it probably was cancer. It turned out to be a very bad infection(source unknown) and he turned a corner and is now home and much better. Our pets bring us so much love and comfort yet can scare us to death. May Charlies improvement continue.

  8. I am so happy that Charlie boy is so much better! And, therefore, you too must be feeling so much better. All kinds of wonderful, positive thoughts and prayers surround you.

  9. Oh my, that’s the best news about Charlie. I am so happy for you. And like somebody else said maybe it’s the heat that got the best of him. Dr Poteet sounds like such an amazing vet. You are lucky to have found him.

And I have some good news to share with you and Charlie. The cyst the vet removed from Ziggy’s eye is benign. That thing kept growing and growing so the vet feared the worst. Now he just looks like he’s had an eye lift! I got the news on my birthday last Monday. So we are lucky ladies with regard to our babies. Ziggy said to tell Charlie that Yorkies and Morkies ROCK!!

  10. Brenda,
I’m feeling the need to apologize to you and Charley boy. I was one of your followers who suggested that maybe it was time to let him go,as someone who has experienced that dreadful event many times,it was not my place to make that suggestion and I’m sincerely sorry.
Possibly he was just dehydrated from this brutal heat and humidity we’ve been experiencing?I have seen IV fluids make a huge difference in people, why not pets?
God bless your Dr.Poteet, he sounds just like my beloved Dr. Benson, she just adored her furry patients, sadly she passed in 2012 and I have yet to find a vet with her knowledge and compassion.
    Book sounds great!
Enjoy your Sunday with the furries:)

    1. No worries. It was on my mind too. Just didn’t want to go there unless Dr. Poteet suggested it.

  11. Wonderful news Brenda! I know we are all rooting for precious little Charlie.

  12. What happy news! I also have been thinking of Charlie and hoping he feels better. It is amazing how fluids can help everyone. Sometimes, when my dog slips it is because I need to trim the hair on her feet. It usually helps. Just a thought. I am continuing to send healthy and happy thoughts to Charlie and to you. Charlie’s doctor sounds like a wonderful person. Hugs to all!

    1. Charlie slips because, due to nerve damage in his back and neck, he can’t really feel his back leg.
