  1. We’re staying home. We may do a little zoom family toast, but no in person get together. We had a zoom baby shower for my niece and it was actually a ton of fun. Clearly not the same, but safe.

  2. We will be alone this Thanksgiving. I’m trying to recover from Covid Double Pneumonia. I was in the hospital for 8 days. The day after I got home my 34 year old son died in his sleep from Covid. It all started with a small family celebration. My husband, my granddaughter her brother, mother and me. We were all positive including three others , one being our son.
I can’t be exposed to any germs right now. My oxygen levels are still not good.
I haven’t been able to hug anyone except my husband. My other children stand in the yard to see me.
Posting this just to warn those planning on having celebrations.

    1. Debby, my heart goes out to you and your family! Such a tragedy and such a loss with your son leaving all of you. You are doing a valuable service by sharing your story so that people remember it can be spread in small gatherings of close family. I hope you continue to get stronger. Take care of yourself.

    2. Oh Debby.
So very sorry that you have been so sick and that you lost your son to this deadly insidious disease.
I hope you continue to get better and better every day. Please take care of yourself.
Sometimes, life just isn’t fair and bad things happen to good people.

  3. It will be just the two of us also. I just heard from another fried. She has Covid now. So one brother in law was in the hospital with it, another sister had a brother in law die of it, and a childhood friend had a mild case of it. I have been VERY tired and achy. Hopefully not sick. I don’t know how anyone can that this is fake! My husband still works in a grocery store. So he is an essential worker. I have been mostly staying at home. So we will have our little celebration. We are in Wisconsin, very high numbers now.

    1. I’m so sorry. So many people dying and the ones with Covid who don’t die end up with terrible side effects. Possibly for life. I just read about one 21 year old girl who died of pulmonary embolism via Covid in her dorm room. So sad.

  4. Me and my husband are going to my mom’s house. It will just be us, my mom, and my aunt and uncle. My mom has already ordered a free range turkey from a local farm and I’m picking up an uncured spiral ham at Trader Joe’s. My mom is also making homemade stuffing and mashed potatoes. I’ll make several veggie side dishes. Not sure what my aunt is making. My mom will also make a homemade pumpkin pie.

  5. I’m going to be alone this year so, ironically, I’ve been thinking about my menu for the day (week end – lol). Thank you for sharing your findings.
I must add that my furbaby, Cooper, will be keeping me company, as he does every day.

  6. It will just be my husband and me for the holidays this year. We love holiday leftovers, too. We are hoping to set up zoom chats with both sides of the family sometime over the holidays, as we won’t be seeing them in person.
