A Tease Of Fall Vignette

It isn’t quite fall yet.

But I thought I’d throw in a little tease of fall vignette anyway. Just to give a hint of what’s to come.

The fall season officially begins on September 22. We have nearly a month to go.

But I received my Etsy order yesterday. I ordered from one of the Etsy shops I featured last week, Cotton Ridge Emporium. And I’m very pleased with my order.

So this photo is in the kitchen, obviously.

A tease of fall vignette with rich colors of brown, beige and gold.

Rich vibrant colors of fall:

I love the rich color of fall leaves. The dark browns and golds in this vignette represent those colors.

I wanted things simple in my kitchen because I don’t have a lot of counter space in my apartment.

This is a nod to fall using kitchen items I also use on a regular basis. Cutting boards, soaps, dish detergent, and hand cream.

And all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be are full of trees and changing leaves. – Virginia Woolf

Tuesday Morning shopping:

I haven’t been out and about recently. But last month I found the round cutting board, the candle holder, and the yellow-gold set of soaps at Tuesday Morning.

A tease of fall vignette in my kitchen with a wood candle holder, two cutting boards, a fabric beige pumpkin and fall soaps.

I figured I could always use the soap and cutting board and candle holder, no matter the time of year.

It’s always good to find things that are not completely seasonally related. Then you can use them all year long.

Symbolic meanings for fall/autumn:

Ancient cultures, science, and astrology have associated many aspects of this beautiful season to human life. These symbolic associations are powerful reminders that Mother Nature has an incredible influence on our lives.

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said: “The only constant is change.”

This time of year is a reminder that our surroundings are always changing and evolving. It is a nod to the impermanence of life.

And a reminder to savor and embrace the present.

  3. My sister in law gave me a small cutting board that fits in my silverware drawer. It has been handy and fun to use. I have a larger one. The small one is better in my small kitchen. Thanks for the information about fall flowers.

  4. I’m not in any way ready for fall, but this is so pretty! What was from the Etsy shop, the pumpkin?

  6. The vignette is so pretty! I love the pumpkin you bought from the Etsy shop Cotton Ridge Emporium. I haven’t received the acorns I bought from one of the Etsy shops yet.
The weather in WV is still very warm, highs in the nineties this week!

  7. The soap bottles in front of the cutting board almost looks like there’s a face on a pumpkin!
    Very cute!!
Love fall, it’s my favorite season.

  8. The pumpkin with the flower on top is adorable – just the perfect accent from spring through fall. I am wondering what autumn will be like here this year. The climate here has changed over the years to more hot, humid and muggy, and summer is now drought season with lots of drenching rain coming in October and November. We still get some glorious days with dry but comfortably warm air, bright brilliant blue skies with puffy white clouds, and if the trees have a long enough autumn season, they put on a show with golds, yellows, reds, oranges. I still switch out some accessories and bring in the fall colors, and cross my fingers that this autumn season I’ll be able to turn off the AC and sleep with the windows open at night under a cozy blanket.

  9. I have a collection of cutting boards, mostly procured at estate or yard sales. It’s like a treasure hunt to find them at a decent price. So attractive and functional.

    I always like your vignettes.

  10. Looked out this morning and saw dew on car windows…air has crisper air of late too…I think Fall is not far off here either. Which for this area is right on as to timing…usually by Sept the mornings are downright chilly…
