Charlie’s Eye Update
I just got back from the vet. They took the stitches out of Charlie’s eye. But it still is not healed properly.Â
So they will see him again in about ten days, during which we will switch from eye drops to ointment.Â
The next step will be a dog opthamologist. Yes, apparently there are specialists for everything.
I don’t know what will happen next. Poor little guy. I just gave him a pain pill.Â
We have been dealing with this now for months.
Let’s hope a miracle happens and it somehow gets well. He still does not want to open that eye because the ulcer is still hurting him.
Just wanted to give you an update. I came in, gave him a pill, and just now made another cup of coffee. I need that today.
Oh, Brenda, my heart aches for you and Charlie. xxoo
Thanks for the update. I am sure all your readers have been/are concerned about both you and Charlie. It is so hard when our "babies" are sick. Prayers for you both.
Hugs and well wishes to you and Charlie. It's so difficult to see our furbabies in pain. Hoping it heals soon.
Poor sweet Charlie :(. I was wondering how he was doing. Sorry to hear it's getting more complicated than expected. He must be miserable!
For some reason, I didn't get this post update in my inbox. Every once in a while that happens. I click on your email for the day, then I see below it a post I never got. Not sure if it's an issue at my end. I know you can check with madmimi to see if a particular post was delivered or whether it bounced. Anyway, no worries. I know you post everyday, just thought I'd mention it.
Poor little darling! I pray his eye heals quickly.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia 😉
Hope Charlie heals soon.
Poor pup!!! I hope it heals. He may not want to open it because of it being shut for so long. That eye may be very light sensitive at this point. Praying the little guy gets better. xo Diana
Ouch poor Charlie!! I hope this gets better; poor little guy
My Pug had an eye ulcer that did eventually heal up, although he lost some vision in that eye. During that time he was on both an eye ointment and eye drops. I can't remember which one of them, but it numbed the pain in his eye. I hope that your Vet would give Charlie the one that will numb the pain in his eye while he is healing. I would ask your Vet about that so that Charlie doesn't suffer so much. I'm thinking of you, Brenda and little Charlie. I know how rough this is on you and your little guy….
Give that dear boy a hug from me. Poor guy. I hope it heals soon.
Brenda,
Not having a blog, I have never commented before. However, I comment today to share with you that I understand what you are going through. My little Chihuahua has a genetic eye disease that we've been treating for about 5 years. Not to alarm you because that probably isn't what is going on with Charlie, but I have had my share of dealing with ulcers. Luckily there are veterinary ophthalmologists and I cannot recommend enough making an appointment with one. If you were in Pennsylvania, I would recommend mine. I'm obviously not a doctor and cannot advise but would be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Poor little guy. He must hurt to keep the eye shut constantly. xo Hope he heals soon…
Aw, poor Charlie….and I know it is hard for you, too, Brenda. Hope he starts to heal soon.
Poor Charlie. My niece is a veterinarian opthamology surgeon. Unfortunately she is in Colorado. Hope you find a good specialist nearby if you need one. xo Laura
