There are cheap ways to spruce up your home to give it a fresh look. You could start by shopping your house to upcycle things in your garage or attic.
Repurposing is a wonderful idea. So, look at the pieces of furniture you have already with new eyes and think creatively.
Sprucing Up Your Digs:
Give that tired old fireplace some bling. Add crown molding or wooden appliques and then a new coat of paint. Make it shine!
You can switch out the mantel decor seasonally. Or just whenever you feel like it needs a change.
You could fill the inside of the fireplace with a stack of wood. Or you could put candles inside it for decoration.
Paint Is A Cheap Fix:
If your walls look scratched up and sad, you might consider giving them a bright new coat of paint.
Choose a contrasting paint color for a real change. You could also paint one accent wall a different color to make a real statement in the room.
Throw pillows and throw pillow covers are relatively cheap. And it will give the space a new look.
Add an area rug to bring a focal point to the room.
Make a trip to your local thrift shops to see if you can find affordable accessories for your home.
One way to refresh the look of your kitchen is to install a new faucet. This will give your sink a touch of elegance and sophistication.
It doesn’t have to cost a lot to make a real difference. You could also switch out the light fixture.

Eye-Opening Tile:
Another way to wake up your walls is with tile. This bright green tile job is just what this kitchen sorely needed. It is the focus of the room.
The green tiles also complement the chairs. A green pot on the stove and a green candle on the table pick up the color again.
Sprinkle a color throughout a room, leading the eye from place to place. It provides continuity.
Back Splash Ideas:
Can’t afford to go all out? Buy bead board for your backsplash or even bead board wallpaper.
Peel-and-stick tile is another easy way to dress up your backsplash without spending a lot of money.
Or you could paint the backsplash for now and do something else later.

Is A New Sink In The Budget?
A trendy new sink would do wonders for your bathroom. This shiny white sink takes the wow factor up a couple of notches.
If you can’t afford a new sink, how about changing the cabinet fixtures? That can make a big difference for not much money, too. You could also get new towels or a shower curtain.
Do you hate the appearance of your old ceiling fan but live in a hot climate? You might want to consider some of the new ceiling fans on the market.
Give your bedroom a slightly new look by changing the linens. Change the lampshades on lamps.
Show Your Home Some Love:
Whether you own your home or rent, there are many ways to stamp your rooms with style and personality. Even the little things can make quite a difference.
Switching the electrical wall plates is a small way to get a new look. Plain white ones are cheap. But you could go all out with fancier ones to adorn your walls.
You might even consider decoupaging the old switch plates with scrapbook paper or wallpaper. That would give the wall plates a distinctive look.
Decorating and switching things up refreshes a room. Enliven your home and have fun!

Great post! I Pinned the picture of the dormer bedroom. We have two at the lake and hanging things on the wall has always been trial and error. I like the different sized picture frames. Thanks!
Also wanted to tell you about a website I found…it features decor from "Around The World". The other day I saw an event for The Boho Life. Keep an eye on it. Dot and Bo (dot com)

I love updating things in my house. I would love to have those bowl sinks in the bathroom! I like those industrial looking faucets in the kitchen too.
I like the wall of bird prints on the wall. Super awesome! I love the photos that you share, Brenda. Sometimes it's the simple touches that can really make a significant change – and without breaking the bank.
