Droplets of rain
were speckling the concrete when I went outside with the dogs this morning. It is cloudy and gray outside.
Here is Charlie looking up at me. He obviously wants something. I will have to figure out what it is. He probably wants to go outside.
Mr. Sun is hidden by the hyacinth bean vine. I still have yet to see the purple bean pods. But then it has only been producing its lavender flowers about a week or so.
I brought Mr. Sun with me from Texas when I moved here to Tulsa. Thankfully it did not get broken during the move in the moving van. Some things did.
The lavender and purple blooms of the hyacinth bean vine reaches up toward the sky. Soon deep purple bean pods will appear.
In the fall they will turn brown and I shall put them in an envelope until next spring.
A moon vine flower:
Do you know what this is? It is a moon flower bloom, closed for daytime. It spreads its large white flower at night only.
The flower looks like a baby’s fist.
I wonder if there are other flowers that only open at night? Do you don’t know of any. I shall have to check into that.
Because it is so delightful to look out the patio door into the darkness and see it all aglow. Like magic. Such a treat.
Abi has two favorite sitting spots outside. One is in the chair. The other is sitting in this pot. You funny bunny dog!
She does the silliest things. Charlie, on the other hand, is just Charlie. A male dog that minds his mama and puts up with his sissy’s bossiness.
He was submissive from the beginning. I brought him home when Abi was just a few months old. But from the start, she bossed him around. I would chastise her, but she always just ignored me.
Because Abi is Abi. Like a cat is a cat and that is that. Abi is just Abi.
