Yesterday Kendra and Kasi met here at my apartment to order lunch after I went to see my doctor. I have a cyst on my chest that suddenly started getting bigger.
It has been there for years and my doctor had told me to just watch it and tell her if it changed.
It’s no big deal. Not cancerous, she said. The breast center will call me to make an appointment to remove it.
Mexican Food For Lunch:
So Kasi went to pick up lunch at a Mexican place just around the corner. We had a nice time eating and chatting.
It’s one of my favorite things to do, have lunch with my daughters. They never seem to have long to stay, but I enjoy what time we have together.
Later this month, all of us, Kendra, Kasi and I will be getting our vaccines on the same day. I’ll be so glad to get that process started.
Patio Chores Need To Be Started:
I need to get out on the patio and start cutting down all the dead stuff from last year. If it’s warm enough today I might begin that process.
The leaves from the tree are all over the patio. But I hesitate trying to remove them now because this harsh winter turned all the leaves brown. First time that’s happened.
So those brown leaves will have to fall. And I don’t want to clean the patio twice.
I noticed that the allium plant has about three inches of green. So I’ll need to delicately cut around that. Also the lemon balm and daisies are coming up.
A Harsh Winter May Have Killed Some Perennials:
I thought the oregano in the big pot was going to make it all the way through winter. But this last bout of ice and snow turned it brown.
Maybe if I cut it all the way back it will have the energy to return.
Then there are daffodils that seem stunted.
They’ve been the same 4-5 inches they’ve been for about a month and nothing has changed. They’re at one end of the blue raised bed, just one clump of them.
More About My Garden:
I’m not seeing anything from the white clematis yet. I don’t know if it survived this winter or not. It has made it through the others. But none of them were as cold as this year.
The yarrow seems to be okay. But then I think it’s hard to kill yarrow.
I know many think of it as a weed. But I love the yellow flowers it produces. And since it’s in a pot, I’m not worried about it taking over.
What is the status of your garden?
