  1. As soon as I saw your Garden Diva pieces, I knew I had to check out the website. I’ll definitely be ordering something (several things, maybe!) from there. The plants on your terrace lush and healthy. Glad you and Ivy are enjoying the display of nature outsie your windows! Good luck with the ankle doctor!

  2. Brenda, I, too, hope the new doctor has some helpful ideas about your ankle. Crossing my fingers that that is the case.

We have a lot of squirrels in my neighborhood, too. They are mostly “red” squirrels, their fur the color of the one in your photo above. But we recently have been seeing black squirrels, too. Squirrels can be destructive little imps but I like them. They bury a lot of acorns from the oak tree in front of my house so in the Spring I have quite a few baby oaks sprouting up. I pot them and give them to my neighbor who has some property in northern Michigan where he plants them.

I have about half my outdoor pots planted and am hoping to get the rest done by next week. I am cutting back on my beloved petunias this year as I can’t keep up with dead-heading them and they get lanky and ugly. But I do love the beautiful colors they come in.

I really love the metal sculptures from Garden Deva. I would like to order something from her but my ancient computer won’t let me go to her site. Maybe when I finally get a new one I will be able to.

Hope you had an encouraging appointment with the doctor.

  3. Good luck with the new doctor. That robust squirrel is what we call a red squirrel here in MN. They are much bigger and more aggressive than greys. Here the grey squirrels live mostly in town. We live in the country and only have red ones. My Jack Russell caught one by the tail a couple of years ago. She got a lot of little squirrel bites around her mouth and nose. Squirrel got away with most hair gone off its tail. Wonder if Ivy would attack a squirrel. We have a cat that has caught and killed a baby squirrel and also baby rabbits. He is an in and out cat. In at night and out during the day. Love your garden art!

  4. Sure hoping you will find help from this new doctor!! Guess that is what we all hope when we try out different ones!! The plants look lush and healthy!!

  6. Wishing you a productive visit with your new Dr. I love the metal wind chimes and girl. I just got metal birds that you hammer into wood. One is a hummer, one is a momma with babies in a nest and another is just a bird. Very cute!

  7. Love the Garden Diva artwork! Good luck with the new ankle doctor!

  8. What are the names of the two plants in the last picture? They are both pretty. Good luck with the new ankle doctor today! I’m interested to hear what they think of your ankle, and how they might be able to help you.

    1. Plant at the very top of the photo is a Calathea (sometimes called a prayer plant).
Plant in the lower portion of the photo is a Fittonia (sometimes called a nerve plant).
      Both are houseplants.
      Hope this is helpful.

  9. That is one chunky healthy squirrel. I love the color of him (her?) too, there is much more reddish brown color than on the squirrels who inhabit this area. There are three different tribes of squirrels that hang out in my yard, dark gray with darker streaks and has a slightly elongated upper body area – they look bottom heavy, and they also have white rings around the outside of their eyes, some with a little bit of brownish color streaked on their sides but I see much fewer of them, and basic gray sometimes with silvery streaks on the sides but they have the longest and bushiest tails. The robins are here in force this season. I am going through 24 ounces of raisins that I feed them in a couple of days. I think they may be feeding nestlings now and that is why the demand for easy food has increased. Your house plants and outdoor flowers are gorgeous and I like the metal wind chimes very much. I hope the new ankle doctor will be able to give you some options for improving your ankle and eliminating the pain.

  10. I hope u get better results from this new ankle doctor Brenda!
