  1. Hoping by now you have heard from the vet, and have an explanation for Gracie’s strange behavior.

  2. Hoping things are ok for Gracie…sorry for the trouble…seems troubles come in droves sometimes…

  3. Brenda,
I’m worried about your Gracie girl. I hope you can get her looked at ASAP. Anytime one of my rescue cats becomes reclusive; I also call my Vet. It’s hard to know what they can get into.
I loved the series Bosch, especially his fondness for Jazz. The other T.V. series I’ve really liked, is ” The Fall” with Gillian Anderson of “The X Files.”
I like Tom Clancy’s books, especially “The Hunt for Red October.” I also like David Baldacci’s different series of stories.
I love your office and the rest of your apartment. You have done an amazing job.

  4. You might have to get Gracie to an emergency vet. Cats hide when they’re sick. If she’s not coming out even for tuna, that’s concerning. Please keep us posted.

  5. Gracie and Ivy might have had a spat while you were deeply asleep or gone on an errand. She might have a puncture wound.

  6. Might it be possible she has something Iike a string or something similar caught in her teeth, or even her throat & is try to dislodge it by shaking her head & clearing her throat sounds?

  7. Brenda, I love Harry Bosch shows and books…I listen to the audio tapes while I craft. Have you watched Elementary (Sherlock Holmes-present day-New York)…you can stream on HULU. Highly recommend.

  8. Love Jack Ryan movies. Not a fan of Clancy books – too long and too much detail! 🙃 Love Bosch on Amazon. I’ve enjoyed listening to audiobooks of the Bosch series. I download them from our library.

Hugs to Gracie! Hope she’s back to her normal self soon.

  9. Poor Gracie, I would be worried too, given the symptoms you noted. I remember you had a vet who visited your former apartment, is it possible to get that vet or a different one to make a house call to help get Gracie out from under the bed and examine her? I can’t imagine it would do your body any good to be down on the floor trying to get Gracie out from under the bed by yourself. I devoured Tom Clancy novels in the 1980s and 1990s. I read the first 7 of his novels: The Hunt for Red October (1984), Patriot Games (1987), The Cardinal of the Kremlin (1988), Clear and Present Danger (1989), The Sum of All Fears (1991), Without Remorse (1993), and Debt of Honor (1994). These books feature a recurring cast of characters, including Jack Ryan. “The Hunt for Red October” was made into the best Tom Clancy movie, in my opinion, with an excellent cast and compelling edge of your seat adaption from the novel.

    1. My regular mobile vet is the one on vacation. She just asked me remotely to take a video of her. But I can’t find her. She’s in some hidey-hole.

  10. Cats hide their sickness really good. Sometimes till it’s too late. Make sure she hasn’t eaten on any of your houseplants. Don’t wanna worry you but something doesn’t sound right with her. Praying she will be back to normal soon. Please keep us updated.

    1. I don’t think there’s any way she can get to the house plants. Only thing I can think of is I had two house cleaners in here Thursday.

  11. I wonder if Gracie could have nibbled on something in the carpeting. She has a whole new world to explore and might have found something she shouldn’t have. I know you will have her seen as quickly as possible.

I’ve watched all of the Bosch series and loved it. But of course I reported for the Los Angeles Superior Court system and met my husband — a Robbery-Homicide LAPD detective — on a trial so I’m partial. I also enjoyed his partner in the series.

  12. Not to worry you or anything, but when my cats are ill they go under the bed. I’m not talking about an upset stomach. You will probably have to get someone to help you get her from under the bed. Make sure your door is closed. I’d also call another vet to get her checked. She may have ingested something or hurt herself in some way. I’ll be praying for little Gracie.
