Sometimes it’s difficult to figure out a way to decorate around a TV. A TV is a big part of life, though we don’t want it to dominate the room.
The only way I know of to do this is to either hide it, or decorate the wall around it in order to distract from it.
Below, on the wall behind my living room TV is a compilation of photos I’ve taken myself and prints I’ve picked up at various places and framed.

You might recall the long beige shabby chic frame. It had a rose print in it.

I found this farmhouse style print with bluebonnets surrounding an old church at Hobby Lobby on sale for half price.

It fits better with this theme I have going right now.

But don’t worry. The rose print is safe and sound on the back of this poster should I ever want to use it again.

I don’t know why I haven’t been framing my own photos before now. I guess it just didn’t occur to me to do that. Because I’ve taken lots of photos when taking country drives of cows and horses, etc. Farm life.

There are shadows on the glass from the light.

You probably recall me showing these photos. I just sent them to Walgreens to be processed into 5×7 and 8×10 enlargements.

I also added my vintage washboards to this wall. I’ve had some of these for close to 40 years. I have a small collection of washboards that I cherish.

This is another poster from Hobby Lobby. The print was half off, and so was the frame. It fit right in to the theme I have going on this wall.

This chippy window shutter is from The Restore. I found the cow and the clock at my favorite antique mall in Jenks.

I got the cow for a song. Under $5 dollars. The clock is a Pottery Barn clock.  I got it for a great price as well.

So I did a gallery wall around my TV. In farmhouse style. You can use any style you desire. And distract from the big black hole that is the TV.

  2. A television can be troublesome to decorate around but you have made it look easy. The newer tvs don't have that large "frame" around them so they are not so in-your-face. Your photographs are definitely frame-worthy.

I'm so glad you thought of using your photos, and it makes me think that you need to print up a bunch and offer them for sale to your readers. They'd look great in our houses too!
