Pillow Covers: My Year Of Choosing Green Decor

I’ve noticed many other decor bloggers have been all about the color blue this year while I have chosen green things for my home—pillow covers, dish towels, bath towels, area rugs, dishes, and house plants. Green has become my go-to color.

I’ve found myself looking at green pillow covers. I thought I’d share them with you if you need any inspiration. I chose 18×18 for the size, which is what I was looking for. You can change that, of course.

The first pillow, an embroidered monster leaf pillow, does not come in a set. Instead, you purchase just one. However, the rest are sets, and all but one set is under $20.

1. Green Tropical Leaf Embroidered Monstera Pillow:

I am drawn to this green and white pillow with the monster plant motif. It would look so pretty on my couch or in my accent chair. Don’t you think?

2. Chenille Farmhouse Pillow Covers:

In my year of choosing green, these 2 chenille ones are in my Amazon cart.
Amazon

I’ve had this set of two pillow covers with stitched edges in my Amazon cart several times. They look so soft. I can imagine myself lying on the couch reading a book with these pillows.

I’m not sure why I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. It’s probably because I have 18 windows to add curtains to, and various rooms of hardwood floors to put area rugs on.

However, the price is good, at around $10 for the set of them, so I’m sure I’ll end up pulling the trigger at some point.

3. Sage Green Daisy Floral Pillow Covers:

These green daisy floral pillow covers are currently in my Amazon shopping cart. (Isn’t it fun to shop, put things back, and shop some more without buying anything sometimes?) Armchair shopping.

Of course, I love them. They feature flowers. And not just any flowers, but my favorite flower of the ages. Daisies.

4. Flower & Bird Mid-Century Vintage Pillow Covers:

These mid-century vintage pillow covers aren’t just green. They feature quite a few colors, but I see green when I look at them. Not only are there flowers, but birds as well! You know how much I love nature, birds, and flowers, so this is a winner.

5. Green & Cream Toile Pillow Covers:

My Year (Or So) Of Choosing Green Decor, these are green and cream toile.
Amazon

I love toile in any mix of colors, but I especially like these green and cream toile pillow covers.

I’m aggravated at myself. For weeks, I had a certain set of green pillow covers in my Amazon Shopping Cart. Then, for some reason, I deleted them. They’re more than I care to spend right now. But why couldn’t I have left them in the cart, where they were safe and findable?

I’ve searched for these pillow covers every day, and I can’t find them. Lesson learned: It doesn’t cost anything to keep items in your shopping cart. So leave them be, and make sure you don’t send them onward to the Place Order page if you aren’t ready yet.

6. William Morris Boho Pillow Covers:

I adore my mostly green William Morris art print, which is leaning against the wall in my living room. So, these William Morris pillow covers are right up my alley.

7. Classic Nature Scene Pillow Covers:

My Year (Or So) Of Choosing Green Decor has me choosing a classic nature scene.
Amazon

These nature-inspired pillow covers have a black background, but when I look at them, I see green. I love the rabbits, flowers, and foliage.

8. Linen Fringe Throw Pillow Covers:

These fringed linen pillow covers caught my eye. I like the texture and the fringe. I consider this a somewhat smoky green color.

9. Striped Pillow Covers:

My Year (Or So) Of Choosing Green Decor, these striped fabric covers are the same material as curtains I have.
Amazon

These green and cream striped pillow covers look like they’re made from the exact fabric of the striped curtains I had in my apartment kitchen. I brought them along in case they might fit a window somewhere here.

10. Sage Green Chinoiserie Botanical Pillow Covers:

I’m naturally drawn to these sage green and cream botanical chinoiserie pillow covers. What’s not to like with both flowers and foliage?

I have green and white checked pillow covers on the pillows on my couch. I love anything gingham. For some reason, it just says “cozily inspired” to me.

Okay, friends, it’s time to remove the Christmas decor and focus on the coming winter months. And come up with frugal ideas to switch out the decor in our homes without breaking the bank.

Switching pillow covers is one way to do that while waiting for those seed catalogs to arrive when we can settle down with a cup of coffee or tea and plan (or imagine) our garden.

Below are the free 2025 seed catalogs I ordered this morning. Click on the links to request a catalog.

  1. I love and have similar pillow covers like the striped ones. I make mine from placemats that h you can open the end and slip in the pillow. I found 6 cotton napkins like number 10 that I want to make into pillow covers. $2.25 the day after Christmas! I usually choose white sofa slipcovers but the sage is catching my eye! Rainy here, hope it’s sunny there. Makes such a difference in motivating me!

  2. They have an elegance about them—especially the chinoiserie pillow covers.

  3. Andrea R. says:

I like the Daisy pillows and the Sage Green Chinoiserie Botanical Pillow Covers.

  4. I love all of the pillows. They are all beautiful!

Amazon Tip: Put an item you like in your cart, even if you’re not sure you’re ready to purchase it. Once it’s in your cart, you have an option to “Save for Later”. It will move it down below the items in your cart but be in the same page. All you have to do is scroll down the page of your cart to find it and move it back to the cart when you are ready to buy it.

    1. That’s what I do. So I can’t figure out why I deleted those pillow covers from there. I guess I was cleaning up.

  5. Thank you for the green pillow cover roundup! I just ordered a pair of # 8 in Light Sage Green.
Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!

    1. Pillow covers are a good way to switch things up for not much money.

  6. I like blues and greens. Both my favorite colors! Right now I’m leaning towards blues, but I change up decor and color often. I love those linen fringe pillow covers.

You don’t have to keep things in your Amazon cart. You can keep them in a wish list. Sometimes the price even goes down.

  7. Elizabeth says:

Lovely choices all…green and blue too for that matter…what is not to like? I feel, looking at these, that you feel kind of warm and homey looking at them…inviting perhaps.

    1. Both green and blue are calming colors to have in your home.

  8. Margaret Doran says:

Those “mid-century” covers are much earlier than that, being William Morris’ “Strawberry Thief” pattern, a classic.
    Margaret

    1. Yeah, I didn’t know why they called them mid-century covers.

      1. Chinese company, probably not well versed in Western decorative arts.

  9. Pillow covers: I would buy #2 and #10, with #5 a close third. My Christmas decorations will stay up until at least January 7, the day after Three Kings’ Day. The cardinal prints, reds, whites, blacks and golds will remain as will most of the candle holders on the fireplace mantel. Candlelight and a gel fuel fire going on cold nights make me feel warm and cozy. The red plush throw on the sofa, the red and black plaid snuggly throw on the chair I sit in to stream on my computer during the holiday evenings, the black faux fur throw that covers feet on the ottoman, the soft white throw and the gray and cream plaid throw that cover the backs of the wing chairs by the fireplace will all stay for the winter season. I often snuggle in 2 throws at the same time, I’m a freezy cat during the winter. Christmas ornaments will come off the tree and be organized in a new way this year, so that will take some time. The rest of the Christmas decor is fast and easy to remove, wrap and store, although I’ll miss seeing my antique Santa every morning as I eat breakfast at the dining table. I’m never in a hurry to take down Christmas, I like it to linger.

    1. Every bit of Christmas decor I had up went into one plastic container.

  10. Brenda, my color is also green. Thanks very much for these pillow ideas! I’m going to order 4 different sets!
I do love your decorating! Please keep the posts coming. Can’t wait to see what you do next!
I hope you have a very good 2025!

  11. As always your decorating posts are the best. Green is my favorite, too. That has been my choice for years. I ordered the pillow covers with the birds.

    1. I love those! I might just order them myself.

  12. Very pretty pillows. I have decorated with green for years. Many years ago, I used hunter green. Now I decorate with more of a sage green. I never get tired of green, nor regret using it for years. You can always keep it updated and pretty. Blue never goes out of style because so many people love it. But it’s just not for me.
