Tips for the Perfect Summer Movie Night
Whether you’re planning to watch new releases or old blockbusters, summer is the perfect time to slow down and stream good shows.
Ozark (Netflix)
A financial advisor uproots his family to launder cartel money in remote Missouri, but soon finds himself enmeshed in deeper crime. Think Buckleys (The Waterfront) with boatloads of cash.
• Bloodline (Netflix)
Set in the Florida Keys, this psychological thriller explores a respected family’s dark secrets.
• Yellowstone (Paramount+)
This modern Western is centered on the Dutton ranching family, who bravely, and sometimes brutally, protect their land and legacy. The power struggles echo The Waterfront’s high-stakes family drama.
• Succession (HBO Max)
This drama dives into a powerful family’s fierce power struggles over control and legacy.
• Outer Banks (Netflix)
A teen adventure series with a dark twist in a small coastal community.
• Ransom Canyon (Paramount+, Tubi)
Suburban crime drama with smuggling and betrayal.
• Pachinko (Apple TV+)
More of a historical drama set across Japan, Korea, and the U.S.
• The Outsider (HBO Max)
This crime mystery is based on Stephen King’s novel.

I’ve been watching Good Ship Murder on Britbox. Only two seasons. It is on a cruise ship and the scenery is beautiful at the different ports.
great list! thanks for taking the time to share it
Those are a lot of good shows. I never got into Jaws. I was afraid to watch it, lol. I might never have gone to the beach again! I’m not big on horror or really suspenseful thrillers, but I love romance, comedy, adventure, drama, super hero movies, etc. I just don’t like being scared, lol.
Thanks Brenda have to show hubby this.
I love Letters to Juliet! If you haven’t seen it you really should. It’s a feel good movie and Lord knows we can use those right now!
Have you ever watched Letters to Juliet? Cute story set in Italy. Two of the stars Vanessa Redgrave and Franco Nero also appeared together in the movie Camelot many years ago. I believe they had a child together back then too.
thanks!
