Tennessee Tudor Home Tour
In this Tennessee Tudor home tour, we meet Amber and Adam, who met in kindergarten. They never expected to fall in love with a Tudor home. Just the suggestion of it conjured up gloomy and dark images.
But when they stepped into the home they were immediately taken with it. The natural light, original floors and wood trim convinced them to look further.
The couple was willing to sacrifice space if it meant gaining charm and location.
The wood elements of this Tudor home, built in 1940, were original to the home.
They spent the last year refinishing the woodwork that had been painted over upstairs.
Shop Similar Marble & Metal Coffee Tables
They tried to pick timeless, classic and neutral colors to allow the wood to shine without competing with bright colors.
For instance, their dining table was handmade in Vermont and has a finish that is supposed to age well.
Amber and Adam didn’t want their home furnishings to feel overly matchy.
They brought in woods in medium tones that worked well with the neutrals they’d chosen.
Shop Upholstered Bench Seating
The kitchen space is small but efficient.
The wood surrounding the window is striking. The appliances are white with a stainless steel refrigerator.
Shop Wood Cutting Boards
Unfinished wood shelves are on two walls, meeting in the corner. The backsplash tile is white with a darker grout.
The dining space is small with built-in benches along the wall for additional seating.
Adam grew up studying architectural plans and renderings with his dad, who is an engineer. That, combined with his artistic ability, allowed him to sketch out the dimensions and details they wanted for the custom banquette.
Shop Small Round Kitchen Tables
The couple hopes to build a window seat and bookshelves along a wall in one of their guest bedrooms, but that design process will be further down the road.
Plants are very important to them. They think the rooms feel cold without the plants to bring life to their home.
Amber and Adam feel that plants are an immediate mood-booster during the winter months when the days are gloomy.
Shop Shower Curtains
They also appreciate the fact that plants improve the air quality of their home.
Adam’s artwork is sprinkled throughout the house.
Their art collection is a mix of artists they know personally. They also shop for Etsy finds, and art they pick up while traveling.
The couple enjoys the warmth of their Tudor home with its original floors and architecture. They are glad they bought this home, even though they’d never considered buying a Tudor-style house.
I hope you enjoyed this home tour in Tennessee.

Oh, what a surprise to see a house with such a beautiful interior. Thank you, the author shared for me to help me open my eyes.
I love the way the rooms flow seamlessly into each other yet still feel cozy and inviting. All the extra special touches they’ve added to make it feel like home are fantastic.
The house has a very nice interior. I feel very close and comfortable. Thanks for sharing this post
Lovely home – so nice and bright!
I, fortunately, did not have any trouble loading the pictures. Lovely home. I can’t believe they met in kindergarten! I think I’m the most impressed with that, lol!
I love they way they have combined elements of various styles to personalize their design. Great house!
I always expect Tudor homes to be dark. This one is not! Lovely!
Beautiful home ! I had no trouble loading the pictures!

This was a totally beautiful home. I have noticed however, that almost all homes (McMansions or condos or bungalows) all tend to decorate in the mid-century modern style.(Ikea style) Lots of straight lines, metal and glass, floating shelves. They are starting to all look alike to me. I long to see something more traditional. I guess it’s because I’m old. LOL
Hi Brenda,
Just wanted you to know I could not get any of the pics to come up only ads this morning. Not sure if that is on my end or yours. Just very slow to load and then no pics but the ads all were everywhere this morning. I had that on Laura’s post this morning too. Not sure what that is about. I will try again later.
Happy Friday and have a good weekend.
