DIY Easter & Spring Home Decor
Today I have five DIY Easter & spring home decor projects to make, along with links to the tutorials. I think they’re all super cute.
Decoupage is one of the crafts I’ve always been fairly good at. I say “fairly” with some emphasis as this craft tends to be somewhat messy. And I tend to be a bit sloppy when it comes to working with anything remotely considered a liquid!
However I can decoupage better than I can paint, so there’s that. And I also know how to sew, embroider, and quilt, but I always had better luck creating my own patterns.
How To Decoupage Easter Eggs:
Kimberly at A Wonderful Thought came up with these sweet decoupaged eggs to decorate for Easter/spring. Her eggs remind one of watercolor images.
With paper napkins, faux eggs, Mod Podge, scissors, and paint brushes, you can create these decorative eggs. She has a tutorial on her blog.
How To Create Bead Carrots:
Lindsay at PA Country Crafts says she prefers to dye her own beads to make crafts like these faux carrots for her vending space.
But if you wanted a more neutral look, you could use plain unpainted beads.
Her tutorial can be found here.
How To Sew An Easter Bunny:
Kristi at French Creek Farmhouse sewed these cute bunnies. She has been sewing since she was a young girl. She and her sisters sewed some of their own clothing growing up.
As Kristi got older, crafting and quilting became her passion. She decorates her farmhouse with her creations.
The tutorial can be found here. She also explains how to do the blanket stitch, which is how she edged her bunnies.
I’ve used this decorative embroidery stitch often myself.
How To Make Hand Stamped Easter Eggs:
Wendy at WM Design House created these hand stamped Easter eggs. She shares 4 DIYs to decorate faux eggs.
All of these four DIYs are adorable and would be a fine addition to Easter or spring decorating.
How To Make Clothespin Carrots:
Michelle at The Happy Farmhouse shows how to make clothespin carrots. This DIY was created by Amanda Brown and Michelle explains how to make them.
Any or all of these DIYs would look great in your home at this time of year, as spring grows nearer each day. Happy crafting!
Hi Brenda, What a great selection of fun Spring Easter crafts. I love to make carrots, so it was fun for me to see some new ideas. Thank you for sharing my hand-stamped eggs.
This post spoke directly to my heart because it was all about keeping our hands busy. I believe Busy Hands, Happy Heart!
I’ve never been able master the blanket stitch. Mine are always wonky. LOL I thoroughly enjoyed the tutorial at French Creek Farmhouse and hope to use it very soon.
I hope you’re feeling better today!
I’m feeling better. Thanks!
I think you must be the busiest woman I know of! You always get so much done.
I had no idea that carrots are now a decorating thing. I am always behind whatever the latest fancies are. We’ve broken temperature records in Milwaukee for the past 2-3 days and today its another sunny warm day but rain is expected later. The temperature will “dip” into the 40s tomorrow, which is maybe closer to “normal.” It’s hard to believe that February went by so quickly and according to local weather reporting, we had only two consecutive days of below freezing temperature. I had the earliest back yard clean-up ever over the past few weeks including serious raking, and I’ll go out in a little while to do some more raking. The ground is soft and in some parts a little squishy, it is definitely not frozen, and I’ve got perennials popping up everywhere. I am worried about them because springs here are famously unpredictable. But the warm weather put me in the mood to take down my winter decor and spring decor is slowly appearing. I pulled out of storage some old Home Interiors framed prints that I purchased in the 1980s. For some reason I find them appealing again after all these years, but then I realized that they contain a lot of pastel colors that are now coming around popular again. Go figure!
