  3. May I ask where you purchased your water feature??? It really is beautiful!!!

  4. I really love the look of your water feature. I’m glad it’s doing double duty for you by blocking the sound of your neighbor’s TV. You’ve got me thinking about a zen space. My husband would love it .
I thought of you when we watched Ozark tonight. We’re up to episode 4 of the final 8. Holy moly……it’s crazy!

  5. Brenda, I am happy the fountain is starting to drown out a few of the sounds from above. The sound of tv 24/7 would drive me nuts. I rarely if ever watch tv so I don’t want to hear someone else’s.
Love the fountain and the cat tree.
    Have a wonderful evening.

  6. I would like to set up a little zen space in my bedroom if I could ever get it cleared out enough to have room! I really love your fountain and would love to include one in my zen space. I think yours is too large for my bedroom, though. But I could set it up on my deck. Another project–I have so many in my head!

I sort of like the faux candles for certain spaces but I really prefer real ones. I always look for and buy ones that are not made from petroleum products which, as you say, Brenda, are toxic to breathe. I look for those made with soy wax or other natural substances.

  7. Love battery operated candles, and I have collected too many! I have battery operated candles in my fireplace. I set a metal boot tray on brick supports, arranged my collection of candles on the tray, and surrounded it with pine cones. I had previously soaked the pine cones in hot soapy water, rinsed, then baked them on foil lined baking sheets at lowest temperature for at least an hour. I repeat that soaking and baking in the fall/ winter to get them clean again. They still smell good while baking, after several times.

Remote candles were not available when I collected mine. But they are all on timers. I have a mirror at the back of the fire box.

  8. When I worked in child care, we called the thunder, the angels playing ten pin bowling, it took the fear away for some of the children with a fear of storms. A loud clap, the children would sing out strike! Lol, that bought back some great memories, thank you

  9. I live in an apartment and sometimes joke that I’m taking a bath with the neighbors because sound seems to carry particularly well in the bathroom. But it is the sound 9f other people’s televisions that is annoying. I just hope ours isnt!

  10. Love your Zen area – I have to ponder how to set up something here. And the photo/print is very nice – I went to the page and looked at the others offered too. I like the one with the smooth black stones and the green leaves. I like your pick too but wish the towels weren’t in it. Just my thoughts..
Enjoying thinking about how so many of us are thinking about creating our own serenity spots – you have given us all such good ideas. Thank you.
Love Ivy in her own serenity spot – a beautiful girl cat.

  11. You’re a good photographer, I bet you can make your own zen still life picture

      1. And you can send your picture to a place like Canvas Champ and have it printed on canvas for a very reasonable price. We did it with a beautiful picture of our boat and it looks like a painting.
        Here is their URL: https://www.canvaschamp.com

  12. That canvas is really relaxing! I love it, and the candle grouping is cozy looking too. Excellent zen choices!

  13. Oh, that painting will be perfect in your zen space Brenda!
Don’t procrastinate on this one bc I’ve learnt the hard way and waited to long and then it was gone!
I’m more into the quotes/ words painted on canvas and when my oldest grand comes home from college, then she’ll paint me a few freehand.

  14. The cat tower is taller than I am. Ivy looks so cute in it.

  15. I have Nothing but faux candles. I almost set my house on fire at a party with real candles so no more.

  16. I put that set of faux candles in my cart. I have some small ones throughout the house but that set would be fabulous to display together. Thank you!
I’m so glad your water feature is helping with the droning of the TV from your neighbor above you.

I’m on the hunt for a chair to put in my book nook in my bedroom. I’m excited about the whole idea. A nice chair, lamp and side table will be fabulous in a special corner in my bedroom.
    Have a wonderful Wednesday, Brenda.

    1. I don’t know exactly what you’re looking for in a chair. But I often have better luck buying outdoor chairs. That’s what wicker-like one is in my zen space. They’re usually cheaper and you can put them inside or outside. Of course they’re not plush though.

      1. That’s been the problem – deciding what type of chair I want. Ironically, I have a red wicker chair I got at Pier 1 years ago. I’ll have to give it a try. Thank you for the suggestion.
