The Netflix series Untamed, with Eric Bana, has been very popular. “Untamed” debuted at #1 on the streaming Top 10 chart, with 24.6 million views, and remained at the top for a second week.

The cast is made up of Eric Bana, Sam Neill, Lily Santiago, and Rosemarie DeWitt.

The setting of the Netflix series Untamed is Yosemite Park, but it was filmed in British Columbia. The production opted for various Canadian locations due to logistical challenges and the need for specific access during the summer months in Yosemite.

What Untamed Is About:

Kyle Turner (Eric Bana) works in an elite branch of the National Parks Service. This branch works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness, where nature obeys no rules. He is sent to investigate when a body is discovered in Yosemite National Park.

The investigation sends Turner on a collision course with dark secrets that still lurk in his past. This includes the death of his son, a struggle with alcohol abuse, and a divorce.

Sam Neill is Paul Souter, the chief park ranger of Yosemite and Turner’s mentor. Naya Vasquezis is a rookie National Park Service ranger who moved to Yosemite from Los Angeles and is assisting Turner. Rosemarie DeWitt is Jill Bodwin, Turner’s ex-wife.

Untamed was released on July 17, 2025, on Netflix. In July 2025, the series was renewed for a second season. The streaming platform announced the renewal on July 29, 2025.

The first season was initially labeled as a “limited series.” However, Netflix decided to move forward with a second season due to the show’s popularity.

I found the series thoroughly enjoyable and am looking forward to Season 2 of Untamed.

Season 2 of Untamed promises to return with another impactful case for Kyle Turner. He will be investigating a new mystery. In Season 2, he takes on a role more similar to his rookie sidekick, Naya Vasquez.

The mystery will change with the locale, showcasing a different park. Real-life ISB agents routinely travel from park to park. Kyle Turner will have made his way to quite a few parks between seasons before landing at his Season 2 destination.

The thriller mini-series “Untamed” is the latest Netflix title to debut at the top of the chart. This is thanks to 2.4 million households that watched the first episode in the four days following its release on July 17.
