Sunday Snippets 1.28.24
Yesterday I was sicker than I was Friday. Finally by yesterday afternoon I felt like I could eat something. So I had applesauce, one of the food items on the BRAT diet.
I don’t think applesauce has ever tasted so good as it did yesterday. I’d read not to force yourself to eat, that your body will know. But I kept sipping water and Pedialyte.
I felt like I was freezing and had to keep the little stove on as well as have the heat up. And a heavy blanket over me in my chair.
None of the neighbors have been sick.
By Wednesday night I hurt all over and my back ached so bad I could barely sit up. Then the next day it morphed into diarrhea. Last night it let up a little, but came back this morning.
Poor Ivy, she’s accustomed to Lisa coming by to see her and talk to her. It’s just been me and Ivy since the middle of last week.
What I’m Watching:
Yesterday I began watching the third season of “The Fall.” I’ve watched it before, but had forgotten how intense this series is.
I can’t decide if Gillian Anderson or Jamie Dornan proves to be the better actor in this series. They’re both excellent in their roles.
What I’m Reading:
In The Co-worker…
Dawn Schiff is strange.
At least, everyone thinks so at Vixed, the nutritional supplement company where Dawn works as an accountant. She never says the right thing. She has no friends. And she is always at her desk at precisely 8:45 a.m.
So when Dawn doesn’t show up to the office one morning, her coworker Natalie Farrell―beautiful, popular, top sales rep five years running―is surprised. Then she receives an unsettling, anonymous phone call that changes everything…
It turns out Dawn wasn’t just an awkward outsider―she was being targeted by someone close. And now Natalie is irrevocably tied to Dawn as she finds herself caught in a twisted game of cat and mouse that leaves her wondering: who’s the real victim?
But one thing is incredibly clear: somebody hated Dawn Schiff. Enough to kill.

Just checking in Brenda, to see how you are feeling. I hope that you are on the mend.
Take care
Hope you are feeling much better! Just curious – not being judgmental – had you received the latest Covid vaccine?
Hope you’re feeling a little bit better day by day. Covid takes awhile to completely leave your system and feeling back to normal. Wonder where you caught this virus? If none of your neighbors are sick, could even be germs left on packages from delivery people.
Please take good care of yourself and don’t worry about posting if it takes too much energy. {{hugs}}
I hope you’re feeling better soon. Hang in there!
Hoping you feel better soon!
I’m so sorry you’ve been feeling so bad, but glad to hear you’re feeling a little better. I appreciate the effort it must have taken you to do the last couple of posts when you’re so sick. But Claudine is right. We will all understand if you need to skip a couple of posts. We just want our friend well again. If you’re concerned, then just send us all an email, with no post attached, saying you’re feeling bad and will get a post out as soon as you are feeling better. I like to warm up my applesauce with a little butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Yum! I’m glad you’re staying hydrated!
Brenda, continue to take care of yourself. Wishing you a speedy recovery and a better week.
Dear Brenda,
J’espère que vous allez rapidemment guérir.
In France, the Covid and the flue are also very bad.
Take care of you, we all need You so !
Emma
Brenda, you do sound a bit stronger. I hope you’re on the way to complete healing. Ivy looks concerned. “Something’s just not right with mom.”
I love any Freida McF book! They move fast – no confusing flashbacks, no extensive roster of difficult to keep track of characters, fresh, exciting plot lines, humorous self reflection, and a bounty of unexpected twists and turns! Be sure to read “The Inmate” and “The Housemate” for the same delightful experience!
Brenda don’t push yourself to write your posts. We understand. Of course we want to know how you re feeling. Sending love and light for a speedy recovery.
Claudine
Isn’t Gillian Anderson wonderful? Great movie. Hopefully the worst is over for you.
Sorry covid found you Brenda! I got it last January, so I know its no picnic. I hope you feel better soon.
I am truly sorry you’ve been so sick. Keep remain vigilant in your care and hopefully this will pass very, very soon. Sending lots more healing thoughts!
