  3. Just finished mulching the flower beds with pine needles! I too, enjoy every season. Thankful for nature, family, good food, warm home and a dog to snuggle with! It will be pajama day tomorrow. Blessed to be able to stay home and watch the parade and the dog show at noon. Have a peaceful day everyone.

  4. Beautiful post, Brenda.
Will you still do a little Christmas decorating there, even though you will be moving soon? Hope so because my holidays are not complete until I see your Christmas decor.

  5. Our autumn in my area of Milwaukee is just about finished. It’s been lovely, actually – a long autumn with the leaves staying on the trees much longer than we’re used to, and downright balmy weather with lots of sunshine. The kind of autumn we haven’t had here for awhile. Strong winds coming through over the past three days will continue through Thanksgiving Day. Leaves, pine cones and pine needles from the two trees that line my driveway are everywhere, but no sense trying to clean up (yet again), until the winds calm down. If your daughters aren’t able to assist you in packing up and moving because of their work and business schedules, would it be possible for you to hire a moving crew that also comes in and does packing/or helps with packing, including providing all the boxes and wrapping, etc.? I don’t have any idea what such a service may cost, but given your current physical limitations and not wanting to further injure yourself, maybe something to consider. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Brenda, Ivy and Gracie.

  6. I just love your writing. I find it such a soothing read and I’m jealous I never learned to write like that. The pictures today are beautiful.

I just had 3 crepe myrtle trees planted and the high winds and fall have stripped them of their leaves. I know spring will restore them to their glory.

We are on high fire alert and severe wind warnings starting today thru Friday. And of course threats to cut power. I hope it doesn’t turn out to be a repeat of last Thanksgiving where the power went out on T day at 10:30 am and was out for 36 hours!

  7. I am so excited for you Brenda and of course Ivy and Gracie to be moving into a nicer apartment. The grounds look lovely, I really think you will be happy there.
