In the book, Say You’ll Remember Me, there’s no such thing as a perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes—all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediate yes. That is until Xavier opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. Like, really wrong. Of course, there’s nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . . unless, of course, he can admit he made a mistake.

But after one incredible and seemingly endless date, Samantha is forced to admit the truth, that her family is in crisis and any kind of relationship would be impossible. Samantha begs Xavier to forget her. To remember their night together as a perfect moment, as crushing as that may be. Only no amount of distance or time is enough to forget what’s between them. And the only thing better than one single perfect memory is to make a life—and even a love—worth remembering.

In Ruth Run, twenty-six-year-old Ruth excels at microchip design but decides to get rich the old-fashioned way: robbing banks. She becomes a cybercriminal and devotes five years to siphoning more than $250 million out of the banking system using a hacked firewall chip that she created and that only she knows how to access. Then, one night, an alarm goes off, and she realizes she’s been discovered.

Five hours later, she’s on the run, chased across California and the West by a slew of government agents who see her as both a high-level national security threat and a potential intelligence asset. They’ll catch her dead or alive—whatever it takes to make sure no one else discovers what she knows. Each of these men is obsessed with the woman he’s hunting, sure he knows what makes her tick. But Ruth, always a step ahead, armed with her ironic wit and a reluctant dog, eludes their understanding; can she elude their capture, too?

  1. Both of these books sound interesting. They seem different than your usual thrillers, lol. And I could really use some tips on sleeping well after 60, lol! I’ll looking forward to reading that one. And growing hydrangeas in pots looks good too. Flowers are always pretty planted in the ground, but the nice thing about the pots is that you can move them around. And the lemon poppyseed for two… perfect! The last thing my waist needs is a dozen or two tempting me, lol!

  2. Nice links for browsing again – thanks!

I’ve been working at using less plastic over the years. We’ve ditched plastic food containers (for leftovers) for glass. We also don’t use plastic water bottles, never heat up anything in plastic, etc. I know there’s more we can be doing, so I like reading articles with useway ways to ditch plastic.

  3. I am interested in getting plastic out of my house so I found the article you linked was so interesting and everyone should read it. I bought many cotton tote bags from a senior living facility over the years. I know cotton is hard on the environment but at least I do use them. And that is the key, if you already have it and it isn’t harming your health. Use it up! Good article. Thanks.

  4. Brenda,
    lots of good info!
I was interested to see better sleep after your 60’s. I have been taking magnesium for at least 10 yrs. My sister who is a nurse, recently changed from orthopedics (30+yrs.) to senior home health care. She basically nurses out of her car for seniors. She lives in southern California and has six patients who are all over 100 yrs. of age! They still live alone and are ambulatory. Instead of Melatonin supplements, she reccommends walnuts. She chops them up and advises eating around 2-3 tablespoons before bed along with magnesium. We always follow her dietary suggestions including drinking milk; 2+ glasses of 2% everyday. We know her ideas are sound because our Mother is 100 yrs. and 7mos. with only mild arthritus. She just started using a small walker because her hearing aids seem to be affecting her balance. Foods are the best medicine, she likes to say.
