This week in Sunday Snippets 3.16.25…

I wanted to answer a few questions you asked first.
Questions You Wanted The Answers To:
Where did I get the gingham oilcloth on my kitchen table? Here is the Amazon link. I couldn’t find the exact size, so I cut it down to the size I needed. It comes in many colors.
Where did I get the cute embroidered black cat pillow cover for the living room chair? Once again, Amazon. Here is the pillow cover link. It was $15.99. Sometimes, it’s sold out, but it gets restocked.
Where did I get the chair in my living room?
I also bought this Laura Ashley quilt bedding set for my 16-year-old granddaughter, Marley.
The botanical design is feminine and elegant. I’ve almost ordered it for myself several times.
We used these rug grippers to adhere my hall and kitchen rugs to the floor. Kendra put them down so I wouldn’t have to get down on my knees.
So now you have the links if you want to find these items yourself.
I also his wanted to share this Hamilton Beach hand mixer I recently purchased. Before I purchased this one, I had a Kitchenaid hand mixer. But after a short time, the beaters would not stay in the holes on the bottom of the mixer.
The Hamilton Beach hand mixer above was a third of the cost of the Kitchenaid hand mixer.
I was so disappointed in that hand mixer from Kitchenaid. Because my beloved Kitchenaid countertop convection toaster oven is one of my favorite buys ever.
It’s been going strong since 2019 and survived two moves! The image above is a newer-looking model because mine is 6 years old. For under $300, it serves me well, and I use it daily. I rarely ever turn on my kitchen stove.
The Kitties:

Simon and Daisy are as mischievous as ever. For small cats, they sure are loud running through this house. They manage to scoot those giant cat trees around just by running and jumping on them!
Daisy often comes into the kitchen to nibble dry cat food when I sit down to eat. I guess she thinks that when I eat, she should eat too. When she wakes up from a nap, she will sleepily come find me, like a toddler will go find its mother to make sure she’s still there.
What I’m Watching:

I’m still watching The Killing. Kendra said she enjoyed this series as well. I only have a few episodes to watch. I wish there were more.

Have you heard of the new short series Adolescence starring Stephen Graham that’s just been released on Netflix? I’ve heard it’s very good. I’m planning to watch this show next.
Adolescence tells the story of how a family’s world is turned upside down when 13-year-old Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) is arrested for the murder of a teenage girl who goes to his school.
Graham revealed that the series is inspired by the growing knife-crime epidemic in the U.K. Here is the trailer for Adolescence.
“We could have made a drama about gangs and knife crime, or about a kid whose mother is an alcoholic or whose father is a violent abuser,” said Graham. “Instead, we wanted you to look at this family and think, ‘My God. This could be happening to us!’ And what’s happening here is an ordinary family’s worst nightmare.”
Movies I’ve Recently Watched & Enjoyed:
I’ve watched a few excellent movies lately.
One movie was Breach, with Ryan Phillippe. Breach is a 2007 American spy thriller directed by Billy Ray, who wrote the screenplay with Adam Mazer and William Rotko. The film is based on the true story of Robert Hanssen, an FBI agent convicted of spying for the Soviet Union and later Russia for more than two decades.
Another movie was Trust, a screenplay by David Schwimmer. It starred Clive Owen, Katherine Keener, and Viola Davis. It is about a vulnerable 14-year-old who falls into a trap set by an online sexual predator. Her family begins to disintegrate, uncertain how to cope with the tragedy.
What I’m Reading:

This is the first book I’ve read in Karen Slaughter’s Will Trent series. The storyline captured me immediately, so I’ll probably try to read all 12.
Summary:
Fifteen years ago, Sara Linton’s life changed forever when a celebratory night out ended in a violent attack that tore her world apart. Since then, Sara has remade her life. A successful doctor, engaged to a man she loves, she has finally managed to leave the past behind her.
Until one evening, on call in the ER, everything changes. Sara battles to save a broken young woman who’s been brutally attacked. But as the investigation progresses, led by GBI Special Agent Will Trent, it becomes clear that Dani Cooper’s assault is uncannily linked to Sara’s.
I guess that’s it for Sunday Snippets 3.16.25. Have a great Sunday!

I have those rug grippers underneath the rug by our kitchen door that leads into the garage. They work wonderfully.
That’s too bad about your Kitchenaid mixer. I’ve had the handheld one for about 10 years and haven’t had a problem. However, I don’t use it too often. I mostly use my Kitchenaid stand mixer, which is about 37 years old and still going strong!
I use my toaster/convection oven a lot, too. It’s a Breville. Have had it about 7-8 years.
The bedding you got the granddaughter is very beautiful!! I too love cooking with my toaster oven though I do not have the same brand you do. Sure saves a lot of time, work cleaning ovens we cannot reach well and no doubt electricity!! How did we manage before such was on the market? Kitties are funny…at least you are never bored with them there!!
Kitties are so darn cute. Good timing on the rug grippers. I’m in the midst of getting all new flooring in April, moving everything out and sort of panicking on whether or not to get some rugs that I’ll trip over. LOL. These grippers look great!!! Have you tripped at all on your rugs with your bad foot?
No, I’ve had no problem stumbling over the rugs. This was just a measure to prevent that. It adheres them tight to the floor.
GREAT!!!
