My book review today is about the novel “The Family Tabor,” by Cherise Wolas.

Book Summary:
Harry Tabor is being honored as “Man Of The Decade” in the city of Palm Springs. It’s a distinctive award for a life well lived.
His grown wife and children have done well in life. His wife, Roma, is a child psychologist. Their children are Phoebe, Camille, and Simon.
Phoebe and Simon are attorneys, and Camille is a social anthropologist. Son Simon has brought his wife and their two young daughters.
Phoebe doesn’t want to talk about her boyfriend, and Camille doesn’t know if her life is going in the right direction. Simon can’t sleep at night. Roma knows that her children are hiding things from her.
The ceremony is nearly upon them, and they will be forced to confront all the untruths on which their lives are built.
But something is also stewing with Harry Tabor. He doesn’t know if he can go through with the ceremony and accept the award because he doesn’t feel worthy. Something happened long ago that haunts him to this day. And no one in his beloved family is aware of it.
What none of them knows is that Harry is haunted by a secret from long ago, when he relocated his family to the California desert.
But secrets have a way of coming out. Harry suddenly disappears from the event before they call his name to honor him. Everyone is worried about what may have happened to him and where he’s gone.
The entire book is set over one weekend and is told from the perspectives of Harry and each family member.
My Review:
I really enjoyed this book. I like books that alternate points of view within the plot. The book kept my attention, and I was anxious to find out what Harry and his children were hiding from one another. Because obviously, what was bothering Harry was enough to make him leave.
Disclaimer: I received this book free in exchange for my honest review.
