First Tablescape In My New Home

This is my first tablescape in my new home, which I have dubbed Mamie. It consists of green, white, and red colors.

I had to move two dining chairs to other parts of the house. For one thing, it was hard to get around in this space. And two, the kittens would run across the house and fly over the table, often sending a chair to fall backward.
Oh, what those two can get up to!

View Of House Plants:
In the background, you see many houseplants on the cupboard holding my transferware dishes. This keeps them out of reach of the curious felines. On the other side of the cupboard is Mamie’s wide hallway.
I used my green pitcher for the faux red roses. I found this pitcher long ago while living in Tyler. If I’m not mistaken, it was at a small antique mall-type store, and I paid $12 for it.
All the white pitchers are on top of the kitchen cabinets, and I don’t trust myself to get up there to fetch them. Teri arranged them when I first moved in. She must have better balance than I do.
Besides, I don’t think of green and red as just for Christmastime. They are two of my favorite colors. Green can be subtle and bold, and red can be energetic and adventurous. Sometimes, I like to blend the two.

I added a wood dough bowl for texture and to accent and ground the centerpiece.
I purchased the little green and white creamer below from an Etsy shop. It holds long gold stirring spoons for coffee that I found on Amazon.

Usefulness Of Having White Dishes:
Having white dishes is quite useful when creating tablescapes. The neutral color is a good base for whatever colors and patterns you wish to add on top.
Most food looks best against white dishes. An 18-piece white dinnerware set for six is available here.

The various-colored striped linens were a gift from one of you. They were gifted to me many years ago, and I love the primary colors balanced by white in between.
The green and white gravy boat and dish do not match the creamer, but they both have a floral theme and mix well with my other olive green and white dishes. Both were purchased from Etsy shops.
Olive green is one of the many shades of green in my home, and I use it interchangeably about the house. Mamie’s other main green shade is the Crushed Oregano paint from Valspar.
Here is a similar paint I might order next time to paint a piece of furniture this particular shade of green. I painted four pieces of furniture in this shade when I lived in my first apartment.
Creating tablescapes reminds me of being a little girl and playing with miniature dishes.

The red roses on your table look real. I didn’t know they were fake until you mentioned it! Very pretty!
What are you serving for lunch?
Holy cow, paint has gotten expensive – $67 for a gallon of the match to the Valspar olive green paint, wowsers. I’m really out of touch! Your red artificial roses are gorgeous, so lush and full and very real looking. They add just the right pop of vibrant color against the backdrop of your gray walls and white wainscotting. I also like the deep green color of the pitcher. My after-Christmas winter decor will stay in place until the end of February. With the cold snap we had but thankfully very little snow, less than inch, I’m not thinking about spring until it actually arrives. It never seems to show up around the same every year, it’s always a surprise – sometimes what seems way too early, and other times like it’s never going to happen at all!
Just beautiful! You have the same peace here as you did in prior residences, except here there’s an aura of permanence.
Now, in my house, those plants would not be safe on that cupboard! It’s been years and years since I’ve been able to have live foliage….or even dried arrangements anywhere except in wreaths. All because of cats! Which I would never ever consider a sacrifice not worthy of making! Give me my little furry adventurers any day!
I am curious if your previous residence has a new tenant now that your lease is expired and if you’ve had any feedback from your neighbor friends on who they are and if they’re likely to appreciate how you improved the yard space?
Just nosy!
Really love those dining chairs, Brenda. Are they new? I don’t remember seeing them before. But that may just my memory. Anyway, the tablescape is pretty although I am not a fan of red. The green and white gravy boat would be one of my favorite pieces in the decor. Nice job! Now, what’s on the menu??
LOOKS LOVELY💕
