But below is a spooky tablescape that will bring a smile to everyone’s face.

From his work, beautiful 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles were created that you can purchase on Amazon.

A great round up – the recipes look so tempting!
Brenda, Thank you for collecting such a wide variety of links today. There were quite a few that interested me and I’m so happy to discover new to me blogs.
Thanks for the links. I always liked Charles Wysocki prints but I’m not a puzzle fan. I have nowhere to do one anyway. Brian and I worked on a small (250 pc) puzzle a couple of months ago on our coffee table. Even that one drove both of us kind of nuts, lol. Neither one of us has much patience for puzzles!
I don’t decorate for Halloween anymore either, now that I don’t have kids at home. It was fun when the kids were little.
Those two books look good. I’ll look them up on Amazon to read more about them and the reviews. Thanks for the recommendations.
Some great links here. I am going to try to track down The Marsh Queen book. Thanks for a great post. xo Diana
Like Deb and Danelle’s cream colored pumpkins. With the lights inside, I’m sure it’s extra cute at night. I have several of Charles Wysocki’s puzzles. Not the 1,000 piece puzzles though. Mine are smaller. Love his pictures.
I’m feeling like autumn has given way to winter. Frost/freeze warnings way too early for several days now, today and tomorrow blustery and temperatures struggling to get up to 50. At least the sun is out today. No use trying to rake the front lawn, which gets the brunt of all the leaves in the neighborhood, for most of the trees haven’t really started letting lose yet and what’s the point of raking when the winds are 35 mph? We’re experiencing these sub-normal temps and the trees, and my tomato plant, are still going strong. Geez! Can’t seem to wrap my head around decorating for Halloween this year when I feel like I’m literally freezing to death despite wrapping myself in several layers daily and nightly, but I see the young couple next store really “scary-fied” their front yard this year, ghosts hanging everywhere and tombstones on the front lawn. I’ll be heading to the basement storage later to pull up the box of Halloween stuff, but I’m feeling more like it is time to pull up one of my artificial Christmas trees. I’m not handling this nasty change in weather well, BAH, HUMBUG!
Today in the 80s here. Next week below 30 degrees. Crazy.
At first I thought the link to how to properly style a bed was a bit fussy & over-the- top but it turned out to be a great lesson in proportion, contrast & pleasing the eye! I will definitely be looking for a lumbar pillow to complete my bed look! Each example was interesting & useful.
Thanks!
I’m glad you found the link useful.
One of the trees I decorated last yr was with gold bulbs with pops of red and silver bulbs. My big tree is my fav bc I decorate it with all my snowman, Santa and wooden orn that I have collected over the yrs. Mixed in with my kids orn that they made in school. I really love my poinsettia tree that I put out every yr too! Oh, I can’t wait to decorate my house!!! Lol I have a few other trees that I decorate too bc I go all out at Christmas time!
Almost lost last comment again! Whew!
My grands tree is either Disney characters or snowman, bears, penguins, and Santa orn that were homemade that I bought yrs ago.
Another fav for my kitchen tree is with gumdrop garland, gingerbread ppl made different bc I only bought 3 of 1 kind. A different orn that were holding gingerbread ppl. So much fun! I’m getting excited to decorate for Christmas now! Lol That’s why I start decorating right after Halloween sometimes on Halloween night bc I can’t contain myself any longer! My grands love it too!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend!
Christmas is when I decorate the most for holidays. I don’t really have anything for Halloween or Valentine’s Day.
Charles Wysocki is my favorite artist. He had an art studio in Arrowhead Ca. for many years. His painting always left me with such peace . He died some time ago and I wonder how many wonderful painting went with him .
He apparently died in 2002.
Took a look at ‘formulas for making your bed’ and just fell in love with the bed, and the wallpaper was just my style, fabulous! I also like the idea of a long pillow; I will have a look on Amazon.
I used to make fruit galettes, it is such an easy way instead of making an apple pie, the hot chocolate caught my eye, just the thing when hubby and I have finished collecting all the fallen leaves this autumn.
I just took a quick look at the long pillows on Amazon and there was a long one that was in the shape of a cat! Meant for a child I am sure but who cares!
Thank you, Brenda, this was such fun!
I just hope to bring you fun things to look at and inspire you.
I love these posts, so much to look at. I would never have the patience to do a 1,000 piece puzzle. You must have great self control with your ice cream, mine doesn’t even last a day or two in my freezer. I had a laugh at that and then I was embarrassed to admit it! Sweets just call my name from the kitchen and it is better to not even bring them in my house. I love decorating for fall. Last year we had much more pine cones in our yard than this year and I made good use of them mostly for mulch. I’d like to put greens around my front porch lights in the winter and this year I would like to have the pine cones hanging down from them. I will have to do some research to see the various ways people use to connect them together. Have a good weekend.
For me the danger is tootsie rolls or starburst candies.
Healthy hot chocolate?! Yes please! Together with a good movie sounds like the perfect night.
That’s what I thought when I saw it. How can you feel guilty about healthy hot chocolate?
All of these are fabulous. Love the first one from Deb and Danielle. Love those pumpkins.
Have a good weekend.
Deb and Danelle have beautiful decor and antiques they’ve collected over the years.
I really like your gold ornaments!
I bought a beautiful gold frame with “O Holy Night” inscribed so I decided I’m doing a gold theme this year, past few I’ve done a country style tree, lots of buffalo check, both red/ black and black/ white but I feel like a change.
O Holy Night is a favorite hymn of mine and I always feel in kind of sums up Christmas.
P.S. love the pumpkin tablescape,my daughter in law gave me 3 mini light ups in pink, which is my accent color in a fairly bland apartment kitchen:)
Enjoy your weekend.
I used to always decorate for Christmas with red and white ornaments, but then I switched to gold and silver. I’ve been tempted to add red into the mix on the tree, but I probably won’t this year.
