Born in Ireland in 1868 to an aristocratic English family, Aleen knows she is destined to work with animals. Even if her family is appalled by the idea of a woman pursuing a veterinary career.
The Invincible Miss Cust is based on the life of Aleen Isabel Cust, who defied her family and society to become Britain and Ireland’s first woman veterinary surgeon.

Some lovely things to peruse. The Letters to Santa pillow is adorable!
Good morning Brenda, the chicken chili looks delicious! And Michels house is always amazing. He is an incredibly talented man.
I hope that you have a wonderful week!
The Miss Cust book looks interesting…I love historical fiction!!
Lovely links, thanks! Chicken chili with white beans is so good. I’ve already made it once this fall.
Those two dinners really look good! Maybe I’ll give them a try.
And the Miss Cust book very interesting – I’ll have to see if I can reserve it at my library.
Cheers!
Oh my gosh! I’m going to spend hours at Michael’s website “Inspired By Charm,” his Christmas decorating styles are right up my alley (how to create a cozy Christmas esthetic). I got my “black” accent wall in the living room finished today, hooray. Took way longer than expected, but I’m not as fast and nimble as I used to be, especially going up and down the ladder to do the painting cut-ins – UGH. I’m 2 days behind schedule with beginning decorating for Christmas but with the accent wall now finished I can move the living room furniture around and bring the Christmas tree up from the basement – decided to stick with one (for now – depends on how my energy level flows over the next few days). Looking forward to decorating the Christmas tree and rearranging the living room. I just love what you bring to us in this weekly feature, Brenda. Somehow it just energizes me.
Beautiful Christmas decorations!
I’ve never had Chicken Chili but I may have to try it soon. Looks yummy!
Are you enjoying The Invincible Miss Cuss? I love stories about determined, strong women.
