The Silence In The Sound
The Silence in the Sound is the provocative debut novel by Dianne C. Braley detailing the devastating effects of growing up with addiction.
Life has not been kind to Georgette. Growing up with an alcoholic father and an enabling mother, she clings to the loving memory of a childhood trip to Martha’s Vineyard to help see her through the bad times; and now, as an adult, she returns to the island to start her life over.
Soon she becomes the private nurse for a prize-winning novelist. As the two become friends, he opens her mind to new possibilities.
But everything changes when she encounters the mysterious Dock. Georgette isn’t quite sure about him but finds him irresistible. She quickly loses herself in her relationship despite the inherent dangers that come with him.
Torn between her own future or spiraling into a life she tried so hard to leave behind, Georgette must make her most important decision ever.
Sometimes escaping the past isn’t as easy as it appears.

Last One To Know:
From #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Barbara Freethy comes a tangled, twisty tale of secrets and lies in a thrilling, page-turning, standalone domestic thriller that will keep you up all night!
I was working at my sister’s clothing boutique in Carmel when I got the call. The hospital told me that my mother had been shot and was in critical condition. This could be my last chance to see her, and I needed to go to San Francisco immediately.
I was stunned. Not just because of the horrific news, but also because my mother had died in a storm twenty years ago…
To find out the truth, I’ll have to dive into the life of the woman in the hospital bed, into her past and mine. But as I get closer to the truth, the target moves from her to me…and suddenly her life isn’t the only one on the line.

I really value the fact that you took the time to share the information with others. I had been doing research on a certain subject for quite some time when I came across this topic, and I realized that it was really relevant to that subject.
Late to the party as usual but just had to comment and thank you Brenda for these posts. Soooooooooooooooo much spring eye candy to lift my spirits and inspire me, not to mention also a reminder that spring is a participation sport. In other words, time to find my spring stuff and get back to displaying. Another spring upon us and several years now in this smaller home, time to go through those boxes in the basement and decide what stays and what goes. And as for that blueberry cheesecake pudding poke cake? Oh my, going to have to try that, sounds very decadent, especially the final topping!
All look so good. I am going to get the silence in the sound to read. The sounds great.
Have a good week.
The spring centerpieces are beautiful and inspiring. And I love the words of wisdom from Butterflies and Pebbles. I wish everyone would follow them, imagine what the world would be like if we did.
Thanks for the fun spring links!
Life is for Living
I surely needed to read this quote today. I need to re-read this every day.
Brenda, there are so many wonderful tips and recipes in this blog. I had no idea there were moisture sensor strips in the dryer (I should have read the manual). We have been having a problem when we dry our comforters. The machine stops before they are fully dry. We thought it was something to do with lint buildup and figured it was time to clean the dryer lint compartment again. Thanks for the great tips.
What fun today! Love the cake recipe. Can’t wait to try it. And the lantern idea is just too cute. Like how H&H gave us step by step instructions. And the coffee table vignettes that Tidbit and Twine has done are just adorable.
I love poke cakes; I’ve never made one with blueberries. Definitely time to try one. Yum!!!!
I, too, like the spring lanterns with the bunny tucked inside. Very sweet!
Wishing you a happy Saturday.
The Blueberry Cheesecake Pudding Poke Cake looks heavenly!!! I can’t resist anything with blueberries in it. Yummmm Thanks for sharing.
The au gratin potatoes look delicious, and I love the spring lanterns. The bunny inside is too cute. I think I’ll try that this year. I read the article on cleaning your dryer. That’s a lot of work I didn’t know had to be done so frequently. I clean the lint trap after every load I dry, and I have a professional come out and clean the whole vent out whenever it starts taking my dryer more than one setting to dry my clothes. And I NEVER run the dryer when I’m not home! Just in case!
