A Lady’s Guide To Fortune-Hunting:
The novel “A Lady’s Guide To Fortune-Hunting” by Sophie Irwin is an entertaining romp through Britain’s Regency-era high society.
Kitty Talbot needs a fortune. Or rather, she needs a husband who has a fortune. Left with her father’s massive debts, she has only twelve weeks to save her family from ruin.
Â
Kitty has never been one to back down from a challenge, so she leaves home and heads toward the most dangerous battleground in all of England: the London season.Â
 Â
Kitty may be neither accomplished nor especially genteel—but she is utterly single-minded. Imbued with cunning and ingenuity, she knows that risk is just part of the game.Â
Â
The only thing she doesn’t anticipate is Lord Radcliffe. The worldly Radcliffe sees Kitty for the mercenary fortune-hunter that she really is and is determined to scotch her plans at all costs. Until their parrying takes a completely different turn.

Love & Other Words:
The book “Love & Other Words” by Christina Lauren is about childhood sweethearts reconnecting after a decade apart.
Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine. She works hard as a new pediatrics resident. She’s also planning her wedding to an older, financially secure man. All this while keeping her head down and her heart tucked away.
But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos—the first and only love of her life—the careful bubble she’s constructed begins to dissolve.
Once upon a time, Elliot was Macy’s entire world. He grew from her bookish friend into the man who coaxed her heart open again after the loss of her mother. Only to break it on the very night he declared his love for her.

Always fun to read your “mentions.” I guess I should be eating more asparagus, and planning a trip to Malaga in ’23! I’m going to make that cheesecake ball!
Oh my goodness, that wreath, pull apart cake is gorgeous! Apparently, I’m a sucker for red food, too!! 😉
“A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting” is right up my alley – I love reading Regency Era novels. I fell in love with Sincerely Marie’s family room, and the Christmas is so beautiful, especially the white flocking against the dark walls.
I love that old trunk with the silver and red decor.
I’ve made a LOT of the recipes from Half Baked Harvest. I follow her on social media plus I have a couple of her cookbooks. Her recipes are fantastic!
I love felted ornaments and small critters. The soup and edible wreath are making my mouth water. I have been making chicken noodle soup. Our daughter makes her own bone broth. I like Wegman’s concentrate organic broth in a small jar. Another nice blog today, thanks.
Great suggestions Brenda. That soup looks so yummy and I am pinning that. The reads sound good too. Love looking at a few of the Christmas decor in the homes you posted. Love this post. Happy Weekend. xoxo Kris
You are so good at finding stuff that appeals to a wide group of folks, Brenda!! Interesting that asparagus is the main veggie one should eat daily. Recently began making the most simple of dishes with it, and Hubby who HATES most veggies, absolutely loves it. And even though I remain dairy free otherwise, ever since I read that the process of making real parmesan cheese eats up the lactose in the cheese, I have also eaten this dish which has parmesan baked on top.
Hi Brenda,
Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions. I’ve already printed out the patterns for the mitten ornaments. When I pick my 10-year old granddaughter up from school, she’s always asking me what we can make or bake for the rest of the afternoon. On Monday, I’ll show her these and see if she’s interested. Merry Christmas!

So many wonderful ideas. I love the felt mitten ornaments. I’d love to have a tree filled with handmade/homemade ornaments.
Nice finds Brenda! I could go for Tieghan’s soup right now bc it’s 30 degrees outside and going down to 18 degrees! Yikes!
