This week in Sunday Snippets 10.5.25…

The above image exemplifies the depth of Simon and Daisy’s love for one another. They’re at the end of my bed while I watch TV. It’s a beautiful thing to see every day.

Here’s Ivy with Daisy at the end of my bed, sleeping.

Can you believe we’re already in October? Halloween will be here before we know it.

Movies I Watched:

IMDb

I watched 1922 on Netflix. It was a 2010 novella written by Stephen King, adapted into a movie.

Summary:

A farmer conspires to murder his wife for monetary gain and convinces his teen son to participate. Wilfred and his son Henry soon become delusional as they continue their lives.

In 1922, Wilfred “Wilf” James (Thomas Jane) is a farmer living in Hemingford, Nebraska, with his wife, Arlette (Molly Parker), and their 14-year-old son, Henry (Dylan Schmid). Wilf and Arlette have been arguing over whether to sell the land Arlette recently inherited. And Wilf, citing that a man’s pride is his land, is strongly opposed to Arlette’s plans to sell the farm and move to Omaha.

Wilf decides to convince Henry to help him murder his mother to prevent losing his land and his son, holding Henry’s girlfriend Shannon (Kaitlyn Bernard), with whom Arlette opposes the relationship, at stake. Henry reluctantly agrees to assist his father in carrying out the murder. Then their relationship falls apart, and Henry leaves with his pregnant girlfriend.

The Lincoln Lawyer:

Wiki

Summary

Mick Haller is a defense lawyer who works out of his Lincoln. When a wealthy realtor is accused of assaulting a sex worker, Haller is asked to defend him. The man claims that the woman is trying to extract money from him.

Mick spends most of his time defending petty crooks and other bottom-feeders, so it comes as quite a surprise when he lands the case of a lifetime: defending a Beverly Hills playboy (Ryan Phillippe) who is accused of attempted murder. However, what Mick initially thinks is an open-and-shut case with a big monetary reward develops into something more sinister.

What Series I’m Watching:

Yellowjackets tells the story of a team of wildly talented high school girls’ soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to warring, cannibalistic clans, while also tracking the lives they have attempted to piece back together.

Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, and Sammi Hanratty star as the teenagers. At the same time, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci, and Juliette Lewis portray their adult counterparts as they reveal the truth about their survival 25 years later.

What I’m Reading:

After watching the movie 1922, based on Stephen King‘s writing, I decided to reread The Shining.

Amazon

Summary:

Jack Torrance’s new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he’ll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing.

But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels increasingly remote and sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is their son, Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

A film adaptation of The Shining was released in 1980. You can watch it on Netflix.

  7. Your kitty pictures are so precious!! And I’m so proud of Ivy! She appears to have fully accepted the new kitties into her life. What a good girl she is. I really enjoyed your Halloween post yesterday. It was a fun read. I hope you have a good rest of your weekend. I’m stool wanting to decorate outside for the kids, but we’re supposed to have rain all week. It doesn’t exactly inspire me to go outside. Maybe I’ll read a nice cozy mystery. I enjoyed that post too.

    1. Still not stool. Autocorrect! 🤦🏻‍♀️

    2. I seem to gloss over Halloween for the outdoors.
