This week in Sunday Snippets 7.20.25…

Kendra had me over for pot roast on Wednesday. Boy, was it hot out. The food was good, though. She layers pot roast over mashed potatoes.
Then on Thursday, Marley came over and we drove to Merritt’s Bakery. We each got a cupcake. Then we went to a Chinese restaurant for a pickup order and came back here, where we had lunch and talked for a while.
The Kitties:
The kittens are growing so fast! They will be a year old next month, according to the rescue’s approximation.
And Ivy looks snug as a bug in a rug curled up there.

On Friday, Steve came to visit. I fixed sandwiches for lunch. After we ate, we returned to the living room, where we had a good, long chat and he played with the cats.
A Movie I Watched:

I watched a movie called Land of Bad this past week. The stars were Russell Crowe, Liam Hemsworth, and Luke Hemsworth.
When a Delta Force team is ambushed in enemy lines in the Philippines, they must rely on an Air Force drone pilot to help them survive a two-day battle in hostile territory. From director William Eubank (Underwater) and written by Eubank and David Frigerio (Crypto), the military thriller stars Russell Crowe and not one but two Hemsworth brothers, Liam and Luke.
It was an action-packed movie that kept you on the edge of your seat throughout.
What Series I’m Watching:
I’m still watching Animal Kingdom on Amazon Prime Video. I’m in the fifth season, and there are only six total.

Animal Kingdom revolves around Joshua “J” Cody, a 17-year-old who moves in with his estranged, criminal family in Southern California after his mother dies of a drug overdose.
He finds himself immersed in a world of armed robberies and other illicit activities led by his ruthless grandmother, Janine “Smurf” Cody, and her four sons. J must navigate the dangerous world of the Cody family while trying to survive and potentially find his place within their criminal enterprise.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and J learns how to pull heists alongside his four uncles, while Smurf, his grandmother, rules the house.
What I’m Reading:

The novel Older by Jennifer Hartmann is about a teenage girl who falls for a man who is 35 years old.
Summary
Before he discovered my age, he uncovered my heart.
Bruised and abused, and a victim of a loveless household, I shimmered with new life the moment he found me drowning my sorrows in a lake beneath the stars.
A chance encounter. An unspoken connection.
I was smitten; he was curious.
But, as everyone knew, fate could be decidedly cruel.
He called me Halley, like the comet.
I called him Reed.
And my best friend? Well…she called him Dad.

I’m so glad you got to spend some time with your family and Steve. I’ll bet Ivy was certainly glad to see him! That book sounds interesting. She falls in love with her friend’s dad? That’s unfortunate, lol. I can’t believe the kittens are almost a year old already. And I’m glad it has learned to tolerate them. I know how much joy they all bring you.
*Ivy* not it. Sorry for the typo!
Some of my most cherished memories are of being able to relate to my grandmother as an adult, to spend time together and talk like friends. Enjoy your time with Marley.
The kitties are so big! They really do enjoy their cat tree!
