Welcome to this week’s edition of Sunday Snippets 8.10.25…

Rhonda and I went to thrift stores on Tuesday and had a lot of fun. We stopped and got Cherry Limeaids like we did last time we went thrifting.
Taco Tuesday has become our day to go on an outing. Her birthday is next week, so I’m taking her to lunch. I’m happy she found me after well over 50 years. I never imagined this would happen! What a gift friendship is, no matter how long it’s been interrupted.
Dental Appointment:
I went to see an endodontist. He said he didn’t think I needed a root canal. My dentist sent me there to make sure I didn’t need a root canal before she takes care of a cavity and a crown. So I’ll be going back to her next week to get the rest of my dental work started.
What I’m Watching:
The Outsider

I’ve been watching The Outsider miniseries with Jason Bateman and Ben Mendelsohn on HBO Max. I’m a big fan of Australian Ben Mendelsohn, seen above. I saw him on Bloodline and was impressed with his acting.
The Outsider miniseries is based on the Stephen King book by the same name. The story revolves around the murder of an 11-year-old boy, and the subsequent investigation that uncovers seemingly impossible evidence. And the evidence points to respected local coach Terry Maitland.
As the investigation progresses, supernatural elements emerge, suggesting a malevolent entity capable of manipulating reality and assuming different identities. The story follows Detective Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn) as he grapples with conflicting evidence. There is the unsettling possibility of something beyond human comprehension being involved.
A Movie I Watched:

In Locke, a man’s (Tom Hardy) life unravels after he leaves his demanding job and drives to London to be present for the birth of a child conceived during a one-night stand. He is in his car driving the entire movie, so it’s about the relationships involved and the great dialogue.
I watched this movie on Prime Video.
What I’m Reading:

“As always, Harper skillfully evokes the landscape as she weaves a complicated, elegant web, full of long-buried secrets ready to come to light.” -The New York Times Book Review.
Kieran Elliott’s life changed forever on the day a reckless mistake led to devastating consequences.
The guilt that still haunts him resurfaces during a visit with his young family to the small coastal community he once called home.
Kieran’s parents are struggling in a town where the sea forges fortunes. Between them all is his absent brother, Finn.
When a body is discovered on the beach, long-held secrets threaten to emerge. A sunken wreck, a missing girl, and questions that have never washed away…
Jane Harper Books:

I love Jane Harper’s Australian-based novels. Her breakout novel was The Dry, about the secrets in a small town in Australia during a terrible drought.

Oh, dental woes and taco Tuesdays, quite the juxtaposition! A throbbing tooth always throws a wrench in the gears, doesn’t it? Amazon Prime and potential cavities, a modern dilemma. Reminds me of when my car started making this awful clunking noise; suddenly I was knee-deep in auto repair forums instead of enjoying a relaxing weekend. Talk about a unwelcome challenge! The whole situation Slope Game felt like navigating a mechanical maze, hoping for a cheap and simple solution.
A passage that conveys meaningful content. Emotional daily activities slope run
That movie sounds pretty interesting. I have Amazon prime. Maybe I’ll check that out. I’m sorry you need dental work. I know that’s never fun and it’s always expensive. I guess it’s good news that you don’t need the root canal. I’m wondering if I’m getting a cavity. I’ve noticed lately that it hurts a little if I bite or chew on my right side. It’s been a while since I’ve had dental work done, so I’m not looking forward to going to the dentist. I think it’s great that you and Rhonda are making a point to get together once a week for taco Tuesdays! And thrifting, lol! Friends are great! I’m meeting mine tomorrow for brunch. I’m looking forward to it.
