Here is a photo of my beautiful Ivy Lou today in Sunday Snippets 2.2.25. She looks so serene, and she has the most beautiful eyes. I feel like I could sink down in them and swim; they’re so calm and pretty.

And a few photos of the rambunctious kittens…

Daisy is looking calm and sweet perched up there on the mantel, where, of course, she isn’t supposed to be. But I’ve removed all but this canvas painting, and they don’t knock that over.

They have so much energy I just let them leap from place to place as long as it doesn’t harm anything.

And here is Simon asleep on my bed. He looks a little scary up close! Notice those two are almost always together.

Simon wakes me up around six a.m. I get up and make sure they have food and clean the litter boxes while I’m at it. Then I go back to bed.

A short while later, he will wake me up again. He might paw at the covers, and if that doesn’t get my attention, he will give me a little nip with those sharp kitten teeth.

What I’m Watching:

I’m currently watching the Canadian show 19.2 on Acorn TV. It is a police drama that follows first responders beyond the crime scenes and into their messy lives.

There are relationship problems, work problems, and the danger that greets them daily in their work lives.

There are four seasons, and I’m watching season two.

In Laura Wolfe’s book Two Widows, the body of an unidentified woman has been found on a local beach in a small town. The police have no suspects.

Book Summary:

Gloria is used to solitude. Widowed and still grieving her late husband, she spends her days with only her faded photographs for company. But when a young woman is murdered nearby, Gloria grows anxious. Living alone in an old farmhouse surrounded by empty woods, no one for miles would hear her scream.

When freelance travel writer Beth arrives with her trailer to live on Gloria’s land, Gloria is relieved not to be alone. The police have no suspects in the murder, and fearless Beth makes Gloria feel safe. Then Gloria discovers Beth is a widow too: the women become closer and begin to share their secrets.

But soon Gloria starts to wonder… what does she know about Beth? About what brought her to this isolated spot? About how her husband died? Is it a coincidence that she’s arrived just as this small town has seen its first murder in decades?

Gloria thought that Beth had told her all her secrets. She was wrong.

Today, my daughters and I are going to lunch. We have gotten together a lot more since I moved here. We can catch up on one another’s lives that way, and it’s just lovely for the three of us to spend more time together.

  1. I’m glad you’re getting to spend more time with your daughters. And your cats… what delights, all of them! I’m loving all the stories and pictures of them. Not so sure I’d like being woken by a bite and made to get up and clean a litter box though, lol. 😂
