The Love Of Home Files #14
This week, for The Love Of Home Files #14, I’ve included a kitchen with a lamp (which you know I love), a Valentine DIY, and a floral wallpapered dining room that’s to die for!
Floral Wallpapered Dining Room:
I’m reading everywhere that color is going to be big, big, big this year! I don’t tend to follow trends. But after the years of gray and beige and white, I found this interesting.
Madison from Blushing Bungalow redid her friend Tara and husband JJ’s dining room in bright colors. They met through their dogs while at the park and became close friends.
JJ is a chef and invites she and her husband over to gourmet dinners. This led to big changes and a beautiful green dining room with wallpaper.
Cozy Kitchen Lamp Space:
You know how crazed I am about having at least one lamp in your kitchen. (I have 3) I came across this one at UK’s Home & Garden website and my eyes lit up.
In House & Garden UK this is Octavia Dickinson’s south London flat. Her home combines antique furniture, floral prints and modern pieces.
I love that scalloped lampshade.
Organize Your Fridge:
For The Love Of Home Files #14, this is Jen’s organization of her fridge for her blog Tatortots & Jello.
Valentine Themed Napkin Rose:

Upcycled Sign:
Q Is For Quandie does amazing things with old finds. She repurposes them, paints them, and brings them back to life.
Above you see one of her projects in The Love Of Home Files #14.
Before & After Silverware Box:
Christy from Confessions Of A Serial DIYer recycled this old silverware box from drab to fab. She does amazing things with “smalls” and bigger pieces of furniture.
Italian Sausage White Bean Soup:
Italian sausage and white bean soup sounds perfect for a cold winter night. I might pair it with crusty French bread. This caught my eye while on Pinterest and I knew it would be perfect for The Love Of Home Files #14.
Winter Pear Salad:
Sabrina shows off her winter pear salad with a tangy and sweet balsamic dressing served over salad greens, sliced pears, crumbled goat cheese, sweetened dried cranberries, and candied walnuts.
Simple Oat & Pecan Blueberry Crisp:
In The Love Of Home Files #14, Lindsay from Pinch Of Yum has a recipe for an oat and pecan blueberry crisp.
Pinch Of Yum was started as a casual hobby in 2010, but then became very successful. Prior to that Lindsay was a fourth grade teacher before the blog took off.
She and her husband live in Minnesota.
The pear salad and blueberry crisp look delicious. The soup looked good too. This post made me hungry, lol.
I think I’m going to give that salad a try. My version of course 🙂 thanks for this lovely post.
That pear salad looks divine. It made my stomach growl.
The soup and salad, yum! The lamp is adorable, table setting is divine and the make overs are amazing. I wish I was a better cook and crafter. I am working on a winter grapevine wreath for my daughter and this weather sure is giving me inspiration! Stay warm and well all.
Perfect read for a rainy Saturday morning. Love the dining room wallpaper and the soup and salad looks like dinner tonight….and the English kitchen.
OH MY GOSH!!! That lamp! That lampshade. Bestill my heart. 🙂
