A Gallery Wall Above My Fireplace

I decided to design a gallery wall above my fireplace. Somehow, I missed seeing the paintings of my barns and cows.

I like the different angles of the paintings and how they came together once they were placed. And I can mix and switch the paintings if I get bored with them.

That might happen because I sit here and look at this wall every single day.

A Gallery Wall Above The Portable Fireplace:

It’s so wonderful to sit in my chair facing this gallery wall, enjoying the warmth and watching the pretty flames. And sometimes I have the TV on and enjoy both at once.

When I left you last, I was taking Charlie to the groomer.

Then I walked through the indoor section of the garden nursery for a bit. And then I decided to drive to Home Goods. It’s about 10 miles from my apartment, so I don’t go there very often.

I was doing pretty well, keeping the pain in my mouth at bay after the cyst was removed.

Then, suddenly, around 3 p.m., the pain began to increase. And it continued to increase beyond its level on the first day.

So I called the doctor’s office, and the nurse said the doctor was in surgery. I told her I thought I’d taken quite enough of Tylenol. And though I really hate to resort to pain pills, I was beside myself with pain.

I called her again about an hour and a half later because desperation was setting in. She told me she’d left two urgent messages with the doctor. I apologized for being a pest because I really hate to keep calling.

A short time later, she called and said a female doctor there called ten Norco pills in for me. And I was so grateful to her.

I was not at all impressed with the doctor who performed the procedure to remove the cyst from my mouth. In fact, I don’t know that I could ever make myself sit in that chair again after being shocked in it.

No Instructions From The Doctor:

That doctor sent me home with no instructions.

I think I may have a sinus infection, which is probably making matters worse. Because I keep coughing, and that hurts too. I’m congested and breathing through my mouth a lot. And oh, sneezing doesn’t feel good at all.

I need to clean my apartment, but I’m afraid dusting the furniture will make things worse.

See Ivy on the far right-hand side playing with one of her catnip mice? I bought her those at the grocery store the other day, and she’s been batting them around the place ever since.

In a gallery wall above my fireplace, I used farmhouse style paintings

The prescription wasn’t supposed to be ready until 6:30. I don’t see well at night. So I never drive at that time. And I especially hate to drive at night when I’m foggy with pain.

I forgot my reading glasses and, once in the car, couldn’t recall how to turn on my lights. Which made me feel incredibly ridiculous. The pain seemed to be overpowering my senses.

So I went inside and got my reading glasses. And I still kept turning the windshield wipers on instead of the lights. I was confused and in pain, and that’s not a good combination.

But I finally located the lights and drove to Walgreens. The prescription still wasn’t ready. So I went inside and thumbed through magazines until the medication was ready.

In Tears As I Drove Home:

On the way home, I finally realized I hadn’t had the lights on at all. That kind of broke the camel’s back, so to speak, and I cried all the way home.

It was pain I can only describe as similar to when you eat ice cream too fast. Except it lasts for hours and hours. It felt like something was boring into my teeth, gums, and cheek.

I don’t know what is going on. But I don’t think I trust that doctor enough to deal with him ever again. He didn’t schedule a follow-up visit anyway.

I felt fine while driving to run errands and while putting the paintings on the wall. The pain wasn’t bad at all.

How could it get much worse days later? Well, I’m no doctor, so I don’t have the answer. I just hope this thing settles down, because I really, really hate to take pain medication.

The gallery wall above the fireplace is soothing to stare at when the fireplace is going.

I’ve already had to take three pain pills. And that’s three more than I ever wanted to take. I’m the type who won’t even drink a margarita because I don’t like how it makes me feel.

After I took the first pain pill around 9 p.m. last night, the pain still didn’t let up until I took the second one around 3 a.m. Then I was able to finally get some sleep.

I keep wondering: Did I have this procedure done too close to getting the shingles vaccine, which made me sick like I had the flu?

I’m taking vitamins and supplements, and now Vitafusion Power C for immune support. I hope this resolves itself soon.

But at least I can sit here in my apartment living room and enjoy gazing at my gallery wall above the little fireplace.

I am seeing this post late. Love your wall..so nice. Your home should definitely be decorated to please you..not anyone else. :0) … Nice and “cozylittlehouse”..love it….. I know you have been to doctor again already, but its beyond me why they would not have initially prescribed antibiotic and/or pain relief pills. So sad you were treated so unprofessionally and therefore suffered so much. I hope you have a good and restful day today.

  3. Brenda, your gallery wall is to die for! You have it arranged beautifully and the cow pictures are wonderful.

I second the advice to not go back to that doctor. Get to a dentist right away. I am betting you have infection in your mouth. If you don’t have a regular dentist or if that’s who did the surgery just call around and find one who is taking new patients. I think the one who treated you was very careless, especially not prescribing some mouth rinse and pain meds. Good grief–how could someone in that position be so careless of his patient. The advice about using a saline rinse was good, too. I mix a tablespoon of sea salt in a cup of boiling water and let it cool before using.
I hope you get some relief very soon. Between this and the shingles shot you have had more than your share of pain for the next year, I think.

Hope you get this resolved asap. You can’t just keep taking Norco indefinitely for heaven’s sake.

I hope to hear that you are better tomorrow and were able to sleep during the night.
