My older daughter emailed yesterday and asked if I’d like to come to supper. I’ve never been to her house and it was just going to be her and Marley.

Of course I wanted to come to dinner. I wouldn’t have missed it. Though I’ve never driven around Tulsa in the dark. Can you believe that? And I managed to get lost because I couldn’t see the street signs well.

I stopped at Tuesday Morning on the way there and found a taller set of bowls for Ivy to eat out of. She’s tall and has to bend down to her current ones. I don’t know if she’s uncomfortable but it makes me uncomfortable to watch her eat.

I also found a little table and realize now I should have gotten the one just a bit bigger to put next to my beige chair. So I guess I’ll be going out and exchanging it and hoping the slightly bigger one is still there.

I took my daughter a little gift, a wooden mortar and pestle set I found while at Tuesday Morning. Her attorney boyfriend they share their home with loves to cook, but he was out of town at some work conference. I have yet to meet him.

I so enjoyed myself. I kept going over it again and again when I went to bed. It made me so happy. I haven’t stopped humming all morning!

And I thoroughly enjoyed the little dogs, Lulu and Thor.

Then I came home where I’d left the apartment all lit up for the pet babies and showered and watched Vera.

Ivy is very curious about the cool mist humidifiers I keep going for Charlie.

She also likes to get on top of the air purifier in the bedroom and feel the cool air coming out.

Tomorrow we will have the small home tour with my blog friend Kris.

By the way, humming is good.

  12. How nice, Brenda, to have gotten to spend time with your daughter and Marley in their home. I’m so glad you got to do that. And, yes, humming definitely is good! I don’t do enough of it myself and I know I do have things in my life that should make me hum. Like these dear little boys that live with me and challenge my patience and hearing every day! They’re a challenge but it’s really such a privilege to be in a close relationship with them.

Our Tuesday Morning closed a few months ago and I really miss it. It was located in a popular little shopping center not far from my house and I don’t know why it closed. There is also a Home Goods, a Kirklands, a Michael’s and a JoAnn’s in that shopping center so maybe there was too much competition. Still, I would shop there before I’d go to Home Goods or Kirklands. Anyway, I wish it was still there because there isn’t another one anywhere in the city. Oh, yes, there is also a TJ Maxx there so I can see the competition was stiff. Oh, well.

  13. As happy as you are I’m sure Marley and your daughter are too. Very happy for you to have them in your life.

Have a fantastic weekend coming up!

    1. She calls it burrito bowls. It is shredded chicken on rice and you add cheese, guacamole bits, lettuce, beans, whatever you choose. It was good. Like a salad bar.

  19. Hi Brenda,
I am so happy you were able to have dinner with your daughter and granddaughter. I bet your daughter’s boyfriend will like the mortar too. So thoughtful.

I love dinners with my two daughters and grands. Special time.

You need to look into watching the five on Netflix. It is about 5 kids growing up and how they hung with each other and the one’s little brother gets taken and the story evolves from there. It goes into their adult lives and how this change each one of them and it is a great mystery of who took the little guy and what happened to him. It has lots of twists and turns and I loved it because there is some dark stuff in this but it ends so well and uplifting. It was a good series to watch. Just an idea and it is set in London.

PS thanks for touring my home tomorrow. I look forward to seeing it.
