It’s cold here this morning. I did my half step pace down to the dumpster to dump trash and had no idea the temperature had dropped so.
Ivy & The Pain Brushes:
Ivy suddenly has a fixation on little paint brushes. Those craft brushes that are about 7-8 inches long with the brush part being about half an inch round.
Somehow she found one when I was organizing in the craft room and was besotted. She takes that thing everywhere. I had forgotten I even had them.
When Ivy has the end in her mouth and the brush sticking outward, I wonder if she wants me to provide an easel so she can paint. Maybe Ivy is an art prodigy.
Yesterday I heard a crash and wondered what on earth she’d done, because she was not in the living room with me.
I saw a plastic container on the floor. Along with Ivy surrounded by various sized paint brushes. I have no idea how she even knew where they were, but somehow she did.
What on earth does she want with a paint brush?
Oh, that cat is mischievous and naughty at times. She seems to have a sixth sense about things.
For example, where the plastic container was with about 4-5 paint brushes in it that she sent flying to the floor.
At times I find paint brushes in the bathtub.
In The Craft Room Series:
I mentioned last week that I’m going to start a series called “In The Craft Room.” I will do some sort of craft. Or do a make over of something I already have.
I worked on a bookmark the other day, but it didn’t turn out very well. I’m a little rusty when it comes to crafting ideas. I’ll have to build my crafting creativity quotient up to par!
I trashed that bookmark, but plan to start another and then laminate it for durability. I’ve done that before in the past when I wanted to make small gifts for someone. But it’s been quite a few years.
Greg has told me to only sit with my feet on the floor for a short period of time. He said I’ll have to build up tolerance with my ankle not being elevated. So I don’t sit at the craft table very long yet.
Feeling Like Taco Soup:
I’ve had a hankering for taco soup lately. I think I may order ground turkey and the other ingredients from Walmart this week and make it. Then I can freeze portions of it.
I have to say I love my freezer. It saves me from throwing out perfectly good food because now I can freeze it for another day.
Plus I can order more food at one time which saves money. When I think about what all shopping entails, this does make more sense, even if I was able to shop for myself.
I signed up for Walmart delivery for one year. They have been pretty consistent with locating my apartment, which takes a load off of my mind.
Once you take into account the price of gasoline and then doing the shopping, you’re certainly saving time. And then hauling your groceries to your car and unloading them to take inside. The cost of having groceries delivered seems very reasonable.
And since I keep having problems with power in my kitchen, it saves me worrying about most of my food. Because the bulk of it I keep in the freezer.
White Cottage Company:
This is getting pretty long, I know, but I have to thank Leah for telling me about White Cottage Co. on YouTube. I’ve been watching the videos and loving them.
You can see her videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCl69GToBX-RxXP4Dp9sQ7jw
Mary is very thrifty and can turn trash to treasure in such a delightful way! She also has an Etsy shop that I’ve been checking out.
You can find her Etsy shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheWhiteCottageCo?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1264921392
I smiled through your whole story about Ivy and the paint brushes, especially the part about finding them in the bathtub!
Too funny about because Clementine likes craft paint brushes, too! My male kitties never paid any attention to them, so go figure. In fact, I have a photo somewhere of Clem with a paint brush in her mouth. If I can find it, I’ll send it to you via email.
That Ivy is a stinker! She reminds me of my girl (rescue) kitty. She LOVES pulling out pipe cleaners from a jar! I put it away finally but think I’ll get it out again for her to play with. they will end up all over the place! I too love White cottage Company. Be sure to watch her videos about her garden shed makeover. It’s darling. I bought her book from her Etsy shop. Love it! Take care….Marilyn
I wondered about her book. I need to get Ivy some pipe cleaners. Maybe that would keep her busy and she’d stop digging around in my craft room. But I doubt it.
I just ordered her some pipe cleaners. Less than $7 so a good buy for something to MAYBE occupy her for a little while.
Ivy is such a scamp. Love her stories. I have a cat about 3 yrs old that bangs on the bedroom door starting about 5 am! I get up and throw some cat nip down for her and she calms down. Gotta love our fur babies.
Ivy puts her paw on me to let me know she’s out of food in the morning. If I put the covers over my head, she sticks her foot under the covers to paw at me till I get up.
Ivy you are so funny! Maybe she would like some (more) attention or new stimulation? I have a friend who rotates the access her cat has to its toys so (the cat) sees each of them as new again as they rotate. I was thinking, could you keep your feet up on a little step stool (or box) while you work at your table? I do that sometimes when I sit at my desk for long periods. For me it helps w inflammation. So glad you are enjoying your new freezer! And the WalMart delivery seems like it is a very good option:-)Have a good day!
I need my legs elevated above my heart so the blood doesn’t run down to my ankle, causing swelling. When I’m eating, I’ll often put my legs into the chair opposite where I’m sitting. But that still doesn’t do the trick for very long.
I’m thoroughly enjoying “Sunday Snippets”, Brenda. And, it’s delightful to read about Ivy’s antics. Causes me to giggle and snicker. On occasion I do laugh out loud.
Spend a little time at your yellow table then back to your chair to elevate your leg and plan projects.
Have a wonderful Sunday, Brenda.
That’s how I do it. Now that I’ve found this woman’s videos Leah sent to me, I’ve now been watching those when I sit down for a bit. She’s so enjoyable to watch, this Amish woman with such a creative mind.
Oh, that Ivy is hilarious!!
Please gift us with pictures of what she has done—including the things you talked about in this post. 😁
I wish I would have had my camera with me, but of course I was using the walker and I would have to go back and get it. By the time I did that, Ivy would have moved. I keep my camera next to my chair so I can sometimes take photos from there if she’s in the living room.
I never tire of stories about Ivy!
I don’t think Ivy ever tires of thinking up things to do!
