A Yellow Table Wall Vignette

Yesterday I arranged a yellow table wall vignette in my living room. I had the yellow $10 garage sale table out on the porch. But I really wanted something to display a lamp on along the same wall where my chair is.

So this is what I came up with. A small lamp from Target on a little bench I’ve had for years. And several botanical-themed paintings I had in the other bathroom at the apartment.

I like them in here where the other paintings are either nature-themed or moody scenes from another time and place.

A Yellow Table Wall Vignette

I’m really enjoying layering paintings around this house I call Mamie. Kendra said she’d bring her drill over and put paintings on the wall. But right now I’m mostly enjoying them as they are.

This way I can switch them out when I get bored and not have to deal with a hole in the wall!

Teri Came To Help Again:

Teri came over today, true friend that she is, and helped me get one of the blue chairs for the back room put together. They are heavy chairs. It was all we could do to get one of them together. I’ve never had slip covered furniture before, so this is a new experience for me.

It took some doing to get the slip cover on the chair. From the arms to the back, it had to fit just right. The denim blue looks nice in the room. After the other chair is put together I’ll get the room ready to show you.

It’s a small room, and those chairs couldn’t be any bigger or they wouldn’t work in there. Kendra put the blue and white rug down in there yesterday, so that was already in place.

By the way, the chair’s slip covers are washable.

I don’t know what I’d do without a wonderful friend who takes the time to come help me get settled, just as she did the last time around. And daughters who have been real troupers getting boxes unpacked and thrown away.

The other chair will have to be dealt with another day. And hopefully someone like my grandson can put it together. As well as the bed and mattress and box springs. Grammy is tired. I’m sure Teri is worn out as well.

I managed to get the bathroom cleaned too. I’d clean one thing, like the toilet, then go sit down with my foot up so I could chase away the pain and get back in there and clean the sink. It takes me awhile, but I got it done and felt like I needed a gold star!

You know, like back in grade school.

Ivy:

Ivy snuggled up in a living room chair against a blue pillow.

And here’s Ivy. Snug as a bug in a rug in a living room chair I purchased from Wayfair a few years ago. She always manages to find a soft place to land. Unless she’s in a playful mood and wants me to throw her toy to fetch. We do that quite a bit.

Here in Mamie she has lots of places to roam and play and sleep. She seems quite content here.

The Door Will Be Another Color:

The peach front door started to chip a little paint. So Kendra called the painter. He said he used a paint that already had primer in it. But obviously that wasn’t enough on a black door.

Kendra decided she’d paint it herself in the springtime when she stains the wood hand rails. She’s probably going with her original plan. Periwinkle for the house (which has obviously already been painted), and apple green for the door.

(See the candle Teri brought to me above)

Many of you thought the peach door didn’t quite fit with the bright blue paint. So maybe this time around we’ll get it right.

It’s real hard to pick paint for such a big project from those little color sample cards, we’ve learned.

Brenda I LOVE your yellow table! It looks like what used to be called a “drop leaf table” which can be made larger when needed; good find and I hae gotten several gems from other people”s trash— their trash but my treasure!!! We are such a “THROW AWAY SOCIETY”. I also LOVE apple green color and that should look real fancy on your front door! Just think when everything is all finished with the inside and the outside when people ride by your home it will really standout as the cutest house in the neighborhood !!! Sandee from Fairfax Va.

  13. You are putting your touches in place to make Mamie just so quaint and welcoming. Ivy has found her own way to settle in. I look forward to each of your posts to see what has been decorated and I especially like to see how items are reused and repurposed. Such a nice talent to put into play. Blessings to your daughters and friend who have helped you through this move.

  14. Beautiful furniture renovation! When I create my projects The Best Quality Mockups & Graphics Online Shop I also try to make them interesting and well-made. A nice and interesting piece of furniture will always be an original decoration for our home.

  15. It sounds as if you are making progress…with a little help from your friend and family. You should be settled by Thanksgiving. Enjoy your new home…it’s lovely.

    1. I think so. I’m having so much fun decorating Mamie!

  16. Love that pillow behind sweet Ivy! Is that new? I look forward to seeing what you have come up with everyday. Love your decorating style!

    1. No, I’ve had the pillow for a couple of years. I got it at World Market. It was about $20.

  17. I love that yellow table. You are so lucky finding it. The whole vignette looks amazing.

    1. Several times over the years I’ve thought about getting rid of that table. But it’s just so useful.

Have u thought about those sticky things that u put on the wall to hang things? Never tried them myself. Looking forward to more pics!!

    1. Yes, Teri has been great. So have you! Come visit me.

  19. Coming together one day at a time๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™‚

  20. I was so excited that you posted again today . ๐Ÿ˜Š I love the yellow table display ! I rearranged my living room today . Pings dog bed is much more visible, I noticed he laid in it several times today . ๐Ÿ˜Š Has Ivy laid in her new bed yet ?

    1. She seemed afraid of it. Wouldn’t go near it. I gave it to Kendra for her 3 pets.

      1. That was very kind of you . โค๏ธAt least it didnโ€™t go to waste. Iโ€™m excitedly waiting to see the room with the blue chairs ! ๐Ÿ˜Š

  21. Love your yellow painted table and vignette. Looks so nice.

Thanks for the link to your new chairs. I would love those for my living room, but they’re too big. I’ll look for something similar.

    1. I looked and looked. The yellow table is scuffed up, but still a great table. I hope you’re doing okay.

  22. Iโ€™m sorry your front door is chipping already. Iโ€™m sure the apple green will look pretty. Speaking of pretty, I love the picture of miss Ivy!

    1. Ivy is photogenic. And she knows it!

  23. Dear Brenda, loving how your home is coming together. The little yellow table is so sweet, your home is getting cozier, Ivy looks so content.

    1. At first I didn’t think the table fit in here. But I was kind of determined to make it fit. It’s what you decorate with, I think, that makes it work.

  24. Dear Brenda- Mamie looks cozier every day! Congratulations on making her your cozy little house. I think the front door color will be beautiful. I look forward to seeing it this spring.

    1. Me too! I love apple green anything.

  25. Ivy looks very comfy in her new home. That’s wonderful. Mamie will come together in time. It is always nice to be finished, but there is no rush. Take your time and stay safe and enjoy the process! From someone who has moved many times lol.

    1. This is my last move. I told Kasi if I even utter the word “move” to just shoot me.

  26. Oh my! I absolutely love what you put together with that little yellow table. The sign set below it accents it all very nicely! I love and prefer nature prints. They give me peace! The blue chairs were pretty. I’m glad you have help with them. I can’t wait to see it all when it’s finished. Ivy is so funny that she’s so at peace here! I can see it in her face. She can probably feel your peace. Too bad on the front door. I hate it when they use paint with primer. I wish they’d stop selling that nonsense. It doesn’t work or ever go the distance and the paint is a weird consistency – more thinned. (I have a room that had semi-gloss (kids room). I sanded it, washed it with TSP, and repainted it with an eggshell paint w/primer it didn’t work either. I’m surprised an actual painter used it. The apple green for the front door will be pretty too.

    1. When I texted Kendra and told her the paint on the door was starting to flake, she said she’d be very surprised if he didn’t prime it first. Well, he just used primer in the paint. And like you said, it didn’t work.

      1. So, they probably used primer in the paint on the house also. Or do you know for sure?

  27. Love, love, love the yellow table wall vignette!!!
    And Ivy!

    1. I’m trying to create more sedate, less cluttered vignettes. It gives me peace when I look around.
